Plague Lords Painting Scheme

Neves

Recommended Posts

Hi,

A couple of months ago I picked up 40K (again) and wanted to quickly get a painted 1500pts list. I remebered the Plague Lords scheme from WD301 (January '05) and gave it a try and must say that I was happily surprised. Mostly I put alot more detail into my mini's but this scheme is quite satisfying! By now I've got 30 PM's running around along with a Lord and 3 termies, rest is still WIP (but the paint scheme is the same so I'll only update with different types of models.

Wow, these are really good. What colors did you use for that rusty orange?

The orange is vermin brown, black wash (I used watered down black ink, but I'll give the new babab black a try), then pick out patches with blazing orange. Then pick out patches in the brown that's left with boltgun metal. It's quite simple, but good enough for gaming (and getting a 40K army ready quickly)

The body is:

*all over dark flesh

*heavy drybrush catachan green (only leave brown in the recesses and small corners etc)

*heavy drybrush camo green

*heavy drybrush rotting flesh (so you have to drybrush everything just as much)

the weapons:

*chaos black

*codex grey drybrush

*blazing orange wash

*boltgun metal drybrush/picking out patches (though I overdid it on the ones displayed here, the weapons on the pred is how it's supposed to be)

Glad you like it :)

Edit: though this is not my invention, it's from a WD as said above!
