Herewith the beginnings of the Tigers Resurgent, my DIY Chapter.

The only other Tiger in full colours is being worked on by Brother Plasticard as part of the DIY swap project.

The orange colour is an artist's acrylic paint from a hobby store, over a white primer as a glaze/wash. I have already learned that:

1) White primer needs to be a good solid coating if you are going to use light colours over it;

2) Anywhere you let anything other than white on to the areas to be glazed will show up really badly;

3) There are an uneven number of feathers on either side of the chest eagle/wings; and

4) Zoom lenses and flashes show up a lot of flaws!

C&C at this early stage appreciated.

I'd recommend going over and covering the bits of undercoat showing through, other than that its looking good, a nice clean fresh paint scheme. I like it.

You need to make the rest of the gang much darker, possibly through a black undercoat. The first thing that came to my mind when I saw this wasn't Tiger, but Tigger! (from Winnie the poh)

Alternatively you could limit the bone colour and go with grey/white instead, but I dunno how this'll work with orange.

B- thats exactly what I thought - very comfortable color sceme like....tigger! I couldn't resist when I saw you post.

Back on topic though - I like the colors - not too much black, good belly color. I expect that you will have a really hard time with the orange covering any oops darker darker colors.

Keep it up. and thanks for the lessons learned.. that is a nice addition to a wip post!

Thanks guys.

The bright colour is what I am aiming at, but maybe when I have seen a whole squad of them I will change my mind; I just can't get my head around using a black undercoat though, white primer is 90s oldschool!

Brother Richard - I haven't added the stripes yet.

I may yet put him through the simple green as I don't like the black patches; next time the black will go on after the orange and yellow/bone!
