The guy below is soaking in the carnage that the obliterator (not yet built) is reaping

And this will be the only fallen bezerker, killed by a neck wound

Advice always welcome :P

Pretty good modelling taLLis. Not sure if anyone answered but i get all my gs off ebay. Get about 4-5 times as much as the GW blisters of it for a similiar price.

Look up kneadatite and go for the tubes instead of the strips as you don't get the hard centre line in the tubes as you do the strips (as they aren't in contact)

Cracking work.

You should take Darkwolf's advise, I can't believe you're buying GW's green stuff, they just rebrand Kneadatite.

Also, I'd recommend Milliput look here it's a epoxy putty product that's very easily available in the UK in most craft and hobby shops, it comes in a variety of different colours and consistencies, it's good stuff and it also comes in tubes as recommended in Darkwolf's post

Why don't i know about these brands!?? i must have been living in a cocoon under the ground. Cheers birdie. when looking for Kneadatite most of it seemed to be in the states so Milliput seems pretty good to me.

I bet i am going to buy some and a third person is going to turn around and recommend another type lol

you can get milliput in Hobbycraft and there is one of them in southampton (its on the A27 a couple of miles from the Hedge End junction of the M27) if you're ever that way. There might even be a hobby craft in Pompey but I haven't seen one.

Hello again, due to uni progress is slow but i've started painting the stationary bezerker, unfortunately the picture makes him look a bit pink but he isn't i promise!

got some WIP of my oblit finally too! Ignore the yellow please, just getting an idea of the kind of pose i want. Any opinions on this guy would be great as he is the center piece for the project and i want him to be alright!

He will be about 4/5 inches away from the veteran sergeant and pointing his big guns at him obviously!

Once again i apologise for the poor pic quality it was taken with a phone!

I'm in awe with your painting skills *looks at my mini's and hangs head in shame* I'd like to see a craved Loyal Marine/Scout firing from the hip with a war cry on his face.

Thanks mate -_- , Best thing to do is practice practice practice!, seriously though post me some of you work and i can always help you out i you would like! oh yea and the craved marine idea, i had already planned something similar for my next project! so keep your eyes peeled :P

lord_bunny: lol! couldn't just leave him ear-less now could i? B)

Wolf89: thanks mate, i am really pleased with how its coming together also

Quick question to everyone, would you rate the washes over the old inks? i am yet to use the washes and am wondering how different say using Devlan Mud (Wash) is to just a brown ink?

the washes and inks are very different things -_-

and are used differently as alot of people found out the hard way.

they have a totally different consistancy to each other.

i really rate the new washes myself but they do take a bit of experimenting with t get used to.

Quick update!

Have started working on the armor and daemonic skin tones, i think they are coming on quite nicely, the armor trim is pretty much done as well.

I'm thinking about adding a purple-ish tint to parts of the skin nearest the metal or exposed bone, what do you think?

Some of the blades etc are missing on the arms but will be added when i've finished the armor and skin.

As always please share your criticisms!!!

The Oblit looks great taLLis. I think a thinned purple wash would do just nicely on the skin. ;) Did you go to GD UK this year? There was an Emperor's Spear marine over by the White Dwarf section. How have your wounded marines come along? Ensure ther'es plenty of damage and blood on them. :D

Cambrius

Cheers guys!

JetfireUK: I agree will you there, i think the face especially, and spine will need extra highlighting and maybe the armor trim

Brother Cambrius: I missed out this year! but was on holiday so i can't complain  is there any pics of the Emperor's Spear about that you know of? As for the wounded marines i have scraped the guy who was laying about and will be making another with a similar pose, altogether i have about five wounded in various stages which i will be updating soon. And much gore will be added! :P

L0NEW0LF: Cheers mate, the flesh consists of Shadow Grey and Skull white both heavily watered down, unfortunately i havn't keep track of how much of each :) , but have been trying make my painting a lot more smooth so have been using more layers. I will also be adding a purple tint to the final product.
