Hello all,

School is out for the summer and I got some work done on a rhino and some scouts. Enjoy!

C&C welcome as always.

Cool. I love the idea for the wire going to the fist. But at the moment it looks like rope. What if you made it thicker? I always feel cheeky commenting on posts like these where the talent is way better than my own. Its just an idea anyway :)

just, wow!

I've loved the look of your Emperor's Children since I first saw them, and the character of each model stands out fabulously!

Also annother thing, how'd you get that PF for the Scout Sergeant, as I was slowly beginning to think about buying the new IG Command Squad and/or cutting up a Commie (or two) for one (or two)...

Arenis

Thanks for the comments guys, I appreciate your feedback.

Fire Lord: I can see what you are saying about it looking like a rope. In real life it is a lot less brown and more bronze metallic. I'm not sure what else I would do to make it stand out as doing anything really flashy would take away from the rest of the model or make it stand out too much to be really "scouty" (although how can you sneak around in bright purple armor anyways? ;) )

Dragonkin: The power fist is chopped up from the old old plastic terminators. I had a few lying around and since they are so tiny compared to the new ones I couldn't use them as termies, however they are a cheap source of powerfists.

Bigger: Thanks, I'm gald you like the minis. Gotta say I've never heard that bit of fluff, and I've ready through the EC IA more times than I can count, The HH collected visions a few times and most of the Horus Heresy Novels twice, especially the ones with the EC. Could you tell me where you got that piece of fluff from, I'd love to get my hands on any more background info I could.

Forge world bits were all in good shape(minus a few bent swords that were fixed with warm water). The gold was either done with shinning gold over tin bitz with a wash of gryphonne sepia highlighted with mitril silver, Or straight shinning gold with a devlan mud wash highlighted with mitril silver. It depends on how lazy I'm feeling that day.

Finished the rhino, should have some shots up tomorrow if I have time before I leave for vacation.

Thanks for the comments

Finished my rhino and am working on Planet strike terrain and my land raider interior.

Would love to hear what you guys think, love it or hate it let me know.

I know it needs more bling to be truly EC but I'm feeling lazy with that right now and want to work on other projects.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks for the compliments mikey! I really appreciate it. I must say the interior was pretty fun to paint as a nice break from all the purple, I'm glad you like it. My land raider interior will be the same, however that's going to take more time. Did you know that there are candles on the inside of a land raider?

And now for something different.

Here is a WIP of my stand in thunderfire cannon. It's the quad gun from the aegis defense line mounted on the back of an old ork wartrak(at least i thing it is). I'll be using the forge world titan tech priest to stand in for the tech marine. I just really couldn't see shelling out 45 bucks for a metal model that I hate the look of and from what I hear doesn't even fit together, so here is my somewhat cheaper alternative.

Would love to hear what you guys think of it.

Thanks for looking.

I like it, but the guns feel too exposed.. Maybe a cowling/shielding ala the side plates on land raider sponsons? Something to make it appear more armored, as it just lacks bulk currently.

Otherwise, amazing work, except I think I spied one MK VII torso in your group ^_^ (I don't care, but had to find SOMETHING with fault!)

Did you know that there are candles on the inside of a land raider?

Really?Holy crap,thats awesome! ;)

I really like the concept for your thunderfire cannon and it looks pretty cool.

I think i do agree with Brother Tuditanus about adding some shileding to the gun for protection.

Cheers,

Mikey.

Thanks for the comments guys. Its nice getting feedback, It really motivates me to get more projects done.

I think that once I add some more bits and the ammo packs the thunderfire will bulk out a little and look more appropriate, but, I'll show it once its done and if you guys still think it needs more armor I'll see what I can whip up.

Loken, yes the land raider will have the same scheme as the rhino interior. I'm just debating on how i want to assemble the land raider, with or without magnets so you can see inside all the details. I'll probably do magnets, figure spending that much money on a tank might as well go all out.

So here is the almost finished thunderfire. Got some feedback and people seem to think it needs some rear stabilizers. I agree, but until I find something to use to make them this cannon will stay as is. Now I just need to finish the operator.

Thanks for looking, have a nice day!

Sorry if I'm re-posting on something someone has already said (I didn't have time to read all the CC) but:

-IMO, I would've given Lucius a smaller sword, he's an expert dueler and that Bastard Sword makes him look kinda Brutish +in the post-heresy model of him, you can see that he uses a much smaller sword which I believe is the same one he would've used pre-heresy.

-Lucius in Eidolons Command Squad as champion? They despised each other if I remember correctly.

-Where's Saul Tarvits or Soloman Demeter?

Other than that, your army is godlike, nice paint scheme, great choice of Character models and it's just pure awesome to see something I've often thought about (but never started) come to life.

Ransem

Bastard swords are just as elegant, or can be, as a saber. Trust me. Size doesn't equate to elegance with swords.

The cannon looks a bit better with those ammo drums, though from head on it looks almost like a lascannon battery on crack. But that's not a critique, as any view of the sides fixes that right quick.

And please, don't feel compelled like everyone else seems to be to force every character from 'Fulgrim' into your books. Gods know i'm a fan, I had Mr. McNeil sign my copy and chatted with him before the doors opened to GD, at length. I loved the book. But just because Graham wrote an outstanding book doesn't mean your army must contain every character from it. Unless that is what you want. But the characters should spring from/fit the army, not the other way around.

Lucius was Edilons lap dog, Tarvitz hated Eddy.

let's just remember that a bastard sword, even in heroic scale, should be at very most 3.5 ft long, or half a space marine, and much much thinner. While a true longsword or bastard sword can be an elegant weapon (and was often the choice of what became both fencers and swashbucklers), the reason he doesn't look elegant is because that sword is ridiculously huge .
Agreed... It's more the width than anything that should deserve critique. I don't think it's horrible though... As if we want to get literal in our critique, an astartes have musculature and reflexes that would probably make that thing move like a fencing rapier.

Thanks for the comments guys, I always appreciate a little constructive criticism.

The model that I have for Lucius has sadly been demoted to a random company champion or honor guard with relic blade should the need arise. I agree the sword is a little on the big side for a fancy fencer. The new and improved Lucius will be based on the sgt for the van guard vets from forge world and will have two swords, to fit his fancy style of fencing. I will either be using him as vanguard sgt. or a stand in for Shrike (the way Lucius fights seems like he would attack much the same way as a mad man with two lightning claws. ;) .

In other painting news, the interior of my land raider is almost done and ready to be assembled!!!

Here are some WIP pics.

I didn't spend as much time on the screens on the side door as I did on the ones in the rhino, cause frankly you can not even see them unless you take the top of the raider off.

Would love to hear what you guys think, might have an assemble shot up later tonight.

Thanks for looking.
