Iron Hands Sternguard

Finally found my camera cable, so I can finally show off my very own squad of bionically enhanced, special-issue-ammo-lovin' Sternguard.

 

I finally managed to do kikkala-pattern bionics, as well as some of my own design, so they're all displaying their mechanical left arms, and all but one have at least one other bionic limb. These guys are far from finished, as they all need more detail work on their armour and bionics, especially Mr. Burn-Them-All. In addition, they need another friend with a combi-melta, and a twin-linked AC Razorback.

The Sergeant. I've posted this guy before, when he was a member of the Chapter Formerly Known As The Knights of the Raven. Since then I've done the GS work on his bionics, added a power cable to his right arm, and scraped down his kneepads to prep the way from some custom greaves.

The Heavy Flamer. I did this guy over a month ago, and since then I've seen a bunch of similar conversions showing up, so I guess I'm not the creative genius I thought I was. :huh: He's got the most work left to do. I need to finish the GS on the joints on his arm, as well as adding power cables and smoothing off the GS that's already there. The idea with this guy is that he's literally built into his weapon, and his bionics are oversized in order to support a weapon that is normally reserved for Terminator armour.

And the Beaky. I'm reasonably proud of his proper beaky breastplate, which is of course why I promptly covered it up with a bolter. D'oh! His leg looks pretty good from most angles, but it looks little wonky from others. I'm going to blame this on the base legs.

The other two guys don't have anything hugely interesting, beyond their bionic arms, but I have a devious plan for the sixth member.

Sweet models you've got there ^_^. So the sternguard can have heavy flamer eh? <starts to laugh maniacly as getting more and more ideas for own sternguard models> ;)

Imagine if I actually build and painted stuff to take in account of the new rules rather than use my archaic ineffective army. :-)

 

2000 Points eh, maybe I'll have three more models painted, of course I assembled them a year or two ago so not with the current rules in mind, one or two are repaints and thus assembled I don't know ten years ago...

I've got a bunch of stuff I'll have to point for 2000 points (of Nurgle-kicking awesome). Of course, that'll be under the new 'dex, so I'm not sure yet how that will look. Are we still on for Sunday?

 

 

In update news....well, there's no progress to show, but I've decided to enter these guys into a LGS painting contest, so they need to be finished by Friday night. I should point out that I have no hope of winning on my own merits, but most of the prizes are randomly selected, giving me the best shot I've ever had at winning a painting prize! :)
