Grey Hutner Wolf Totems

Since I am redoing my special weapon models (putting most of my metal models in Wolf Guard), I figured I might as well find a way to give them Wolf Totems.

I was thinking of the backpack banner pole that comes with the wolves. I hate back banners (though my Long Fang Pack Leader has one.. old guys are set in their ways), so I have a bunch laying around. I was thinking, a simple magnet in the bottom of the pole and in the top of the backpack means I could just attach it whenever I want to give one to the pack.

Can/should I put it on the power weapon GH? He will be the last in the pack to die in most situations (against a walker, it will be the PF).

To model it, I figured the pole with some wolf tails attached to the ends, kinda like a mongol banner.

+1 to combat resolution, unless they change the rules for a sacred standard in the C:SM.

I tend to draw combat alot... so it makes the difference between a drawn combat (where they can get more folks involved in the turns between) and winning (where they might break and run, and we would get to counter-charge anyone he can get into contact).

exactly, plus a lot of units that are fearless will take an extra wound if they lost. ;)

Personally I don't bother with the Wolf Totems. My Great Company standard actually is a large wolf pelt hanging from a Grey Hunter Standard Bearer model. Ya know the one with the Power Fist holding the banner pole. I have the bare underside of the pelt facing forward and painted the Great Company symbol onto that as well as a few other icons. Came out great.

For wolf totems, I use the grey-hunter PF model with various trophies hung from a cross bar and a small banner with the colors of the pack and some battle awards. For the Great Company, I use the SM HQ banner filled with battle awards for various actions in which the company participated as a company.

Thanks, they are plastic. Vash is right. I cut normal termie helmets in shape. the rest is plastcard and a lot of GS. Here are some close ups.

i must say those are some of the best pre-heresy termies i have ever seen!!

i really like the heads, hope you don't mind me trying that on some of my spare termie heads,

they would make great iron warrior termie heads.
