Instigators of Misery ++New Pics++

Been away for some time,

Masterminding a new army..Instigators of Misery

a CSM army first sighted in the 36th millenium

their roots *might* be Alpha Legion (a sub faction) and / or never caught Mantis warriors

or something else entirely...

(I like the mystery shrouding their existence :))

The chapter symbol is a planet with the Imperial Aquila as a shadow over the bottom

squad markings are included IN the chapter symbol

for this Terminator squad I chose this:

gallery_15960_2434_225720.jpg

Altough it might be a bit unclear this squad is called "Instigators of the Tentacled Moon"

The Fluffy bit about this squad is it's weaponry..

4 out of 5 are armed with Plasma Combi's

Detail:

The story behind the weaponry (next to being really effective!!) is that it's a discontinued way of arming certain Terminator Squads in the 36th millenium..These guys are walking relics of that age. IMHO I think it brings the "renegade" bit out more

in this army

I love your blues, (I'm a sucker for blue hues :D ) and I love your freehand it's really nice.

I see some areas where you got a little carried away with the metallics and you've painted it outside their boundaries, but from a foot away you couldn't tell.

Again, I'm really liking your blues, the weapon striking is really neat and the effect is great. ;)

hahahaha thanks guys :D

I bought the current chaos codex a while back

what struck me was the renegade feel

That's why I went for this colour scheme

it has a nice imperial feeling

watch this space though...

got 20 CSM almost finished

after that..8 havocs in the pipeline (already converted, need painting)

The first appearance looks like you painted with crayons, but it also makes you look closer to see the details and thats when you can tell just how well they are painted. Really nice work, definately a rebel feel, like the combo weapons.

Best part - free hand chapter badge!!!

Yeah I went for a colour scheme you would normally find on Imperial Space Marines

emphasising the renegade feel

the gold trimming reminds back to an age past, older armour variants and the like

I'd like to thank you guys for the nice comments

thanks!!

so... I'll keep you guys posted

and please stay tuned

I agree with Julio. The models are great, even excellent, but the name Instigators of Misery is a lot of syllables.

Interesting also that there is a loyalist chapter called the Griefbringers, which is basically the same meaning, and I think their scheme is similar. But their name rolls much more easily.

The word misery doesn't seem aggressive enough. The Night Lords can scare you to death, the Worldeaters can hack you into cubes, the Thousand Sons can set you on fire with a word, but the Instigators of Misery can....what? Make you miserable? Imperial citizens are already miserable!

I dont care much about the name, it is different than most names that is true but his models are also different than most so you got the connection there.

I really like them cant wait to play against them once I get my Vanguards in :P

I'm not a really political minded person, I'm actually straightforward and rather blunt

I'm not changing the name, because I think it's solid, cool, flowing and what not

second I don't CARE about comments on the name of my army, I asked c&c on my models

this is the hall of honor, not the "fugging" DIY-what-do-you-guys-think-of-my-chapter-name forum

(to speak in the written words of the great mister Dan Abnett)

IF I wasn't sure, I would've asked

and since I'm sure, I'll try and give you an explanation, since I'm also a nice and enthousiastic person about my brand new chaos army..

a bitta background if you will..

"Tardiness invites Disaster

Disaster instigates Misery"

A band of renegades, the "Instigators of Misery" made their first appearance during the 36th millennium.

The origins of this Chaos Faction are shrouded in mystery, none can say for sure, but it is assumed by Inquistors that the IoM are either a sub-faction of the Alpha Legion or renegades who belonged to the Mantis Warriors and fled after the disastrous events of the Badab war.

It would explain the presence of the "Praying Mantidae" sub-faction of the Mantis warriors chapter in the vicinity of an Instigator strike.

The sole purpose that IoM seem to have, is to instigate as much misery as they can on hapless Imperial citizens.

They like to prey on the weak, destabilizing Imperial life, for example by killing children and other key elements necessary to a functional society,

leaving behind a society unable to keep itself alive. Though not known at the moment, Imperial scholars believe that these are not random acts of violence, but are part of a grand scheme, only time can reveal..

This has led to speculation on their origins, naming them a sub-faction of Alpha Legionnaires. The overall strategy and tactics deployed by the IoM do have a lot of similarities with that of the Alpha Legion

Imperial investigators, have since dubbed this chaos warband the "Instigators of Misery" and are keeping a close eye on them, monitoring their actions and trying to capture these rogue marines for interragation. Though the Imperium has on three different occacions been succesfull in capturing a couple of them, a previously unknown alteration in their biochemical makeup ensured they died from massive poisoning. An unknown organ seems to release a violent cocktail of viruses and poisons in the marines bloodstream. It does not only deny the captors their chance for investigation, it also lead to quarantining the bases these Instigators had been brought to...

Although a small war-band compared to other chaos factions, The Instigators of Misery seem to take joy in bringing misery on already miserable Imperial life. The what and why can only be guessed at, and small bands of IoM are frequently seen accompanying bigger chaos armies, executing their own missions in the midst of total carnage, chaos and misery. One can only hope they will not succeed at whatever grand plan they hope to achieve

I hope you can all live with my choice of name, cause I love it, I like it, ain't gonna change it

lalalalalalaaaa :P

c&c still really welcome!!
