Not many successors (other than the CFs and BTs are of course an exception) can claim quite so many I think... possibly a few BA successors that I dont know of on the boards, but as far as I can see we are one hell of a strong faction... One thing i don't like though is the mix of metal models such as the veteran carrying the axe with the plastic models. But is it the Axe that does it? Have thought about replacing the axehead with a scepter (sp?) or something. (what parts did you use on him? it looks like pedro cantors gun arm?). The axe man only looks out of sorts due to his "Axe" blade being the absolute most shiny thing in the pic B) looking forward to these guys finished. i am nearly done on the scout*(note to everyone painting GotC's) never paint scout pants and sleeves in red....your model ends up looking like "Santa Claus" :( so i redid him in light fatigues-[dheneb stone] will post a pic on monday. @ equilibrium - welcome to the "Guardians of the Covenant". the base colors we use are a spray undercoat of chaos black,followed by a base coat of "Boltgun metal"...i think Trajan gives his whole paint tutorial on the first or second page of this thread.woops i mean "OUR" hall of honor thread :lol: Mithril Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

MithrilForge Posted November 17, 2008 Author Share Posted November 17, 2008 quick pic update of my scout...the first couple are the test phase,i thought that the metal color of the GotC would convert to the scouts but i think its too much so i changed the pads to my crusade scheme of Co colors on the right pad(the scout is currently assigned to the 5th Co)i still have to do the sword icon on his left arm pad...and highlight the chest eagle. I think it is the axe yes, it just doesn't feel right, maybe a scepter would be good yeh. ;) @mithrilforge: I am loving the scout matey, the shoulderpad looks brilliant! I think if it was me, I would've looked at using the red on the fatigues, to see if that balanced the model out at all. It would be interesting, at the very least! :) 'Commissar Molotov'- Alas i tried the red fatigues first... :) but the scout was the first prize winner in a "Father christmas" lookalike contest :) and also did red armor...but he ended up looking like a Blood Angel scout :) its a tough situation i have.... @equilibrium - maybe take the third company(easy icon to paint) as the 7th co is a reserve company and is comprised simply of 10 squads of tactical troops... Your combi flamers are a keeper ;) and i like the idea you have with the chaplain(since our guys are very bookish :mellow: ) the tome in the hand is brilliant- although you should cut off the top circle clip part as its not attached to anything!the crozius idea is cool!. the libby looks good so far but are you going to put a psychic hood and piping on him? also i would just arm him with a bolt pistol for +1 attk in CC(his psyker abilities are his shooting talent). the cod piece :( on the commander seems to fit...could do with being a little lower,but it may just be the angle of the photo? anyway good stuff....get it done and put some paint on em!!
