Welcome back, I've missed this thread and watching your army grow, i partially blame you for my armies size :D It is good to know I am not alone in my madness. Sorry to hear about your father but happy for your grand kids. Good to see this back :P
Any comments on using the Masters of the Chapter (2nd, 3rd, 4th, 10th Company Commanders by their "Master of" titles) and using the Sicarius (2nd Company Commander) so transfering the MoTC 2nd as the 5th Company Commander.

Wow, paint! Awesome.

 

I have no idea if this has been suggested already but as you seem to be OK for cash :( I really think you should invest in a good quality airbrush. With about a weeks worth of practice it will cut your painting time MASSIVELY and by the time you have been using it about a month you will get superb quality finishes on your models.

 

For someone with this much to paint I think it really is a must.

Troy says it’s a 10 step painting process…

 

Step 1 - undercoat with black

 

Step 2 - paint armour with ultramarine blue then wash with asurmen blue

 

Step 3 - paint all gold in a 50/50 mix of shining gold and bestial brown

 

Step 4 - paint joins, grills, tubes, bionics and chains in boltgun metal then wash with badab black

 

Step 5 - paint capes with 50/50 mix of bestial brown and mechrite red then wash with baal red

 

Step 6 - paint purity seals, scope glass and crystals in mechrite red, paint books in beastial brown, paint straps in snakebite leather

 

Step 7 - paint ropes and scripts in astronomican grey then wash scripts in devlan mud

 

Step 8 - paint swords and highlight chains with chainmail

 

Step 9 - with 75/25 mix of shining gold and bestial brown, highlight gold in shining gold

 

step10 - highlight blues in ultramarine blue, highlight capes in mechrite red, highlight purity seals in blood red, highlight crystals and scope lenses in blood red, highlight ropes in skull white.
