Pitched Battle

I rolled up a pitched battle in the game I played last night and this was pointed out to me by my opponent from page 92 BRB.

 

"He [the player that goes first] then deploys his force in his half of the table, with all models more than 12" away from the table's middle line (this is his 'deployment zone'). His opponent then deploys in the opposite half."

 

So going by this the player that goes first on a 4 ft board deploys 12" in and then the other player deploys 24" in. This left a C'Tan 12" away. Am I missing some information somewhere, is this right, or is it just more of GW's bad editing?

look at the diagram, it gives a pretty obvious answer, you both deploy 12" from the centre

Yes, the picture seems obvious to me. But, the picture doesn't match with the words and I imagine you know how bad RAW lawyers can be.

The picture is as RAW as the words are. The words are somewhat ambigious. I could see them going either way. But with the picture right there I think the intention is clear. And 12" from the center is still in the opposite half. :)

It is implied that the second player deploys using the same rules, in his half of the table (ie 12" from centre line). Even if this is not considered clear, the diagram should remove all doubt.
