I just got the new marine codex and it appears that if I have a chapter master or a captain Im allowed to buy one honor guard or command squad per choice. I dont see any requirement to actually permantly attach the character to or even deploy the character with the squad as with the old codex. So I could treat the command squad and captain as seperate units for the game? correct? Also just noticed Assault troops can no longer be given melta bombs ( except for the sergeant), correct? Brother Nicolas Posted October 7, 2008 Share Posted October 7, 2008 Per the new 5th rules during deployment you state if a character is joining a squad then if the squad is in any transport. This does mean that the said character is still IC. Gone are the days of said character beening "squad upgrade" for shooting and cc (tho said days were not long lol) And yes they have gotten away from jump troops with MB (though van guard I beleave can have them) but they do all get krak and with the new rules on tanks one does not need those mb as much (so saves points) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
