WG Vrox
Suggestion for ya Menathorn Give one model both a PP and PW, then you can have 2 scouts with shotguns. Odds are you will not loose both scouts to PP overheat before that game is over or the squad is dead, this allows you to keep him till the last. Menathorn
Well, I would get some shotguns into the unit. But when I lose a mini with PP, I lose not only the PP but also one PW. Feels like I would lose more than I gain. WG Vrox
You have two models with PP, I am suggestion you convert 1 of them not both, that way when you lose a PP due to overheat you pick the model w/o the PW. If your talking about loosing a model to combat, well the PP PW should be your last model you assign dice to, but yes there is a chance you could loose both both the PW and PP with one roll, but that would be the case either way. I think if you protect him as much as you can you will see that he is usually the last to die. Spacefrisian
My setup is like. 4 scouts with 1 meltagun. Cheap unit. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/148393-how-to-arm-the-obel-wolf-scouts/page/3/#findComment-1726702 Share on other sites
WG Vrox
Trust me Spacefrisian putting out the 20points for the 2 PP for your OBEL scouts will rarely not earn the points back. 1 Plasma shot on rear armor has close to a 30% chance to cause a glancing hit. 2 of them gives you just about a 50%, add in the melta gun and your looking at about a 75% chance to cause damage shooting at rear armor. that improves your odds of a one shot kill, as mentioned in the thread you then have the option to assult anything that popped out. But more than any reason for spending the extra 20 points is, if that first shot misses that squad is in trouble. Still keeps em cheap but gives them some teeth for the bite. WolfLordLars
I run 1 PP, not 2. But, I like to keep the points manageable. Melta, 1 PP, and 2 PW means I can deal with just about anything out there. I wont mix the PW and PP because of overheating, would hate to loose that many points in one model. You dont need to deck them out with every grenade known to man, but give them the tools to do their job.
