Steel Scorpion Chapter needs a new name! Help!

And I was on the verge of asking you if you minded if I stole your chapter.

 

Good thing I decided against it.

 

My Favorites:

1. Scorpion Lords

2. Scorpius Ferrus(latin for Iron Scorpions)

3. Iron Scorpions

I like he Star Scorpions suggested already.

 

My own suggestion is something like "The Mercurial Scorpions or something to do with Mercury, an often overlooked substance wich is, I believe, silver is it not?

 

Oh and I love your minatures. Theyt are very much what has inspired my current theme and indeed my painting as a whole. Keep up the good work and I hope you find a name that suits. I'm currently having naming problems myself, but I'll get there. Look forward to seeing more of your marines in their new name, whatever it will be...

I definitely think it's a great thing that you're changing the name of your guys.Clearly the simplest (and most pain-free) translation would be to go from Steel Scorpions to Silver Scorpions. It's a strong name and maintains the simple yet intimidating feel.

My vote is for "Iron Scorpions".

it has the most simplicity without being dullard like (so many chapter names sound ^_^ )

perhaps you could make a scorpion dreadnought out of the defiler(minus chaos symbols)

and call it the scorpion king! :P

Iron Scorpions or Silver Scorpions are the two most logical steps to me. My vote would be for Iron Scorpions as I almost used that myself so obviously I must like it ^_^

Thanks so much everyone I think i've narrowed it down to 3 and I'm off to warhammer world this weekend to meet up with some friends. We will be writing the fluff over a few at bugmans and i will post it sunday or monday but i have no idea how to do a IA article for the Librarium. ANYONE is more than welcome to join my chapter and due to what i hope you will find is unique about each company you can add your own flavour.

 

Basically, My chapter has no 1st or 10th company for reasons that will become clear and each company fights as a standalone force, rarely fighting together, much like a crusade army.

I like the Scorpion Knights first, my second would be Scorpio Templar.

 

My DIY was at first called the Templars of Steel and went through a name

change to Ironclads, everyone thought they were based off Iron Hands

or Iron Warriors so I went back to my first name, it seems "Steel" is wide open

while "Iron" is taken.

 

I'm looking forward to reading your fluff and your DIY write up.

personally i like Knights scorpio > Knights scorpion (plus knights scorpion is very much like night scorpions which are mine :tu:)

 

iron scorpions > silver scorpions

 

however i personally like Scorpions Argent

Of the choices you've narrowed it down to, I think Iron Scorpions is the overall best, with Scorpion Knights second and everything else trailing a fair distance behind.

of course, I'd be remiss if I didn't muck the waters more by suggesting "Scorpions Venomous" or "Scorpions Adamant" to the list.

I think, but I'm not sure, that the Legio Scorpio may be an official Titan Legion.

 

From the above list I like Knights Scorpion (Scorpio Templar doesn't feel like it would mesh well with the Helmet Crests).
