KNIGHTS SCORPIO As far as fluff is concerned here is a little teaser. 'Whilst known as a staunch follower of the Codex Astartes from their inception during M35, the chapter deviated strongly following some unknown event sometime late M38. It is also noted that the last recorded siting of the chapters' main battle barge, the Undying Faith, was around this time. Since then, the Knights Scorpio appear to operate under a unique structure shunning the teachings of the codex in favour of a more flexable approach. Latest data indicates that the chapter now consists of 7 main battle companies with no known veteran company, reserve companies or even a scout company. They also feature an unusually high deployment of apothocaries which could point to concerns regarding the purity of the chapters' geneseed. Whatever caused the Knights Scorpio change so radically is of the upmost importance to the Holy Inquisition and must be investigated. To date, three Inquisitorial task forces from the Ordo Xenos have been dispatched to investigate this chapter but nothing has been heard from them for some time...' The 1st Company the 'Horatius' Iron Scorpions' are now divided up amongst the 7 battle companies and each is responsible for the recruitment of its own initiates. At any one time the operating strength of a battle company is as follows. Captain Ancient (usually a former captain in the form of a dreadnought) Chaplain Command Squad 15-25 Iron Scorpions (former 1st company vets which form the assault, devestator and terminator roles) 80 - 120 Battle Brothers (All tactical) 15-50 - Scouts Full company armoury The chapter still leans towards the seige specialists of their parent chapter Each of the 7 battle companies has their own title which I want you guys to name: KNIGHTS SCORPIO Survivors of the Undying Faith: Ancient Horatius, Captain Herminius, The Iron Scorpions 1st Battle Company: Chapter Master Kaltan, Ancient Horatius - Scorpio Mortis, The Scorpions Death 2nd Battle Company: ??? 3rd Battle Company: ??? 4th Battle Company: Knight-Captain Herminius, Ancient Lazarius - Scorpio Angelicus, Heroes of the Undying Faith 5th Battle Company: ??? 6th Battle Company: Knight-Captain Ser'varin, Ancient Navastus - Scorpio Aegis - The Scorpion's Shield 7th Battle Company: ??? Peoples opinions and ideas, are not an excuse to be rude. They're entitled to them as much as you're entitled to the complete opposite opinion. You tell us to drop the judgements, but all we've seen so far is some guy not allowing A_B to use his chapter and some other guy (you) throwing his virtual weight around and acting like some guard dog. Anyway, the sixth (My company, if I could be so bold) could be called The Aegis. Aegis being shield in Latin. They could have a history of totally crazy drops arriving last minute into what looks like certain death to buy civilians more time, and then staging fluid withdrawals all the while stalling enemy attacks with well measured counter attacks. They would do this until reaching a defendable line where the tenacity and sheer refusal to give in that the Knights Scorpio are famed for allows them to hold until the Imperium can react. Thats the idea behind them, led by Knight-Captain Ser'varin (New rank, sounds cool, but it can be dropped) with Ancient Navastus. When i say crazy drops, I mean full company drop pod assault into the middle of the enemy vanguard crazy. Other names: The Formless/Phantoms/Ghosts - for their fluid way of war. Attacking them melting away as if they werent ever their except for the corpses. The Venoms - A leaning towards more assault troops? The Steel Claws - A more terminator heavy company?
