Apocalypse Lords - Terminator squad

Well, although I've been quiet on the boards of late, I have been keeping myself busy, preparing for my next Apocalypse game.

So, here's the 5th squad of my Deathknell formation, for a total of 26 terminators, plus my dreads. I suppose I'll have to take a picture of the whole thing as it might look upon showing up on the battlefield.

So some basic troopers:

Here are some Cyclone missile launchers. I originally had built several of these and put them aside for awhile, but in my Apoc games I felt my termies needed some AA support. I was very excited when I saw that they had become Heavy 2 in the new codex.

The bronze fist on the second model represents a battle honor.

And finally, I built a chaplain awhile ago and then needed a vet sgt for my "Heralds" tactical unit, so I got him worked up. I know, he's white, but there's a reason for that. I'm also aware that he's not configured necessarily with tournaments in mind, more from a heroic fluff perspective.

So, that's about it for now. I have more on the table which I will be revealing before too long, but in the meantime, C&C greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

honda, 2x B) love the split scheme, good to see contrasting colors working together,

my only gripe is the bronze fist, its a great idea but the whole fist in the color seems to look a little off compared to the quality of everything else :P

not sure how to fix it but it just looks out of place somehow...maybe if the fist was part bronze it would look better...sorry for the crit but they are lovely models and deserve the best work on em.

However, the barrel of the stormbolter seems a bit odd.

:P

Since I've been painting these guys (started in Nov of 2006 or so) the guns just seem to rub some the wrong way. I wanted to do something different to my SBs than just drill two holes on the end. What I have attempted to emulate is the old WW I Mauser machine pistol. I really liked that gun (a friend of mine has a couple that he'll let me shoot sometime) and I thought I'd give it a shot.

Anyway, it's a common comment and it's Ok. At the end of the day, I like them.

The bronze powerfist was one of those "I wonder if this will work" kind of things. It stands out quite a bit now because he isn't standing next to anyone, but when everyone is all gathered together, he actually doesn't stick out as much. One of the things I wanted to do is add little details that distinguish some of the troopers so that they don't all look like clones. This may have been taking that a little too far. I'll have to see...that or he's going to have to do some pretty fancy stuff in some games to justify standing out like this.

I do appreciate the comments, though.

:D Also forgot to add,the red on the chaplains tabarb looks fantastic and the metals on him DO look the part,i can see where the idea for the barrel extensions come from,i kind of thought of the Eversor assasins needle pistol when i first saw them

I like them a lot.

I would personally ad some shading to the bronze powerfist to give it some depth. I love the idea of it as a battle honor, I would not change it. Just take a little ink and wha-laa. Instant gar approval.

Chappy looks good and the red is as good as my own I would say.

I like the split color scheme, it's hard to do these justice. Nive Job!

But I just can't get along with silenced Bolters/Stormbolters. It's like silencing a rocket launcher Oo

EDIT: Just took two seconds of time to read through your post to find out these are NOT silenced Stormbolters. Sorry ^^
