paulson games
You could also try making a press mould with greenstuff, press one of the terminator eagle chests in some green stuff so it captures the detail, let it harden up and one it's set you can push greenstuff into the mould it to make as many eagle crests as needed. Shortsonfire79
Too late man..I'm struggling with this. I've already almost gone through it twice..I hope those white lines from where the plastic bent don't show during painting. Shortsonfire79
I'll assume that nobody saw my last post, since Pausen replied, then I did, and then when people hit the "last post" button, it didn't show the one with pictures. SO GO BACK IN TIME!! Anyways, Paulsen, heres the chest eagle. Its not great, because its too thick, so it really sticks out (like a sore thumb, not literally) http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo234/shortsonfire80/IMG_7454.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151343-spaceit-seems-to-go-on-forever/page/6/#findComment-1853163 Share on other sites
Brother Captain Andrecus
Looking good Shorts! This guy seems pretty cool... Paulson's above idea is probably better than mine, actually... A little late though... (What does ODed mean? Over-done?) Shortsonfire79
Thanks man. Paulsen's idea may be good, but its not working! OD is over dose, like..when you take a whole bunch of pills (for example) so ODed is the past tense. =-D like getting too much of something. And off topic, we...I'm not hijacking the Flyer thread, because I've only posted 5 times in it, and it was pretty spread out, it wasn't like we were having a conversation. Back and forth. Thanks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151343-spaceit-seems-to-go-on-forever/page/6/#findComment-1853249 Share on other sites
Brother Captain Andrecus
I meant like, we as everybody telling him what to do, not just you and me. Telling him how to build his own heavy flyer is kindof hijacking the project... I dunno, I'd prefer not to be responsible for the loss of some poor guy's thumb because I told him to add more stuff to his scratch build... S'okay though. Back on topic. What do you mean Paulson's method isn't working? Which method? Chopping a chest eagle off a Termi and sticking it to the CM, or making a greenstuff press mold of one? I think the eagle in those pics looks fine... Oh, and the white slash lines don't show up when you paint over them... Shortsonfire79
Oh, I wasn't part of that, I was giving ideas, as I'm not sunken into that idea, I thought it looked fine. Loss of thumb? HE uses a RAMBO knife to model! ~ The cut it off the Terminator method. Its not working. And I'm not going to mold one now, since I only need one, and I'm starting to lack on Green Stuff (though I've planned on getting more this Saturday for a couple of weeks). And thanks about the white line thing. I didn't think it did, but I wantd to make sure. Shortsonfire79
Check it! Bolters are added, I just need to fill the gaps. I've also added the base for my ammo belt, on one side. The magnets work perfectly, I just hope that they don't fall off. http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo234/shortsonfire80/IMG_7455.jpg http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo234/shortsonfire80/IMG_7456.jpg http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo234/shortsonfire80/IMG_7457.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151343-spaceit-seems-to-go-on-forever/page/6/#findComment-1853381 Share on other sites

Shortsonfire79
I'm not as pleased as I'd like to be. I just hope it'll look better after paint. I need to add the spacers, fill gaps, and an eagle, and I can essentially call it done. I'll be cooking up a base in the last remaining days. http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo234/shortsonfire80/IMG_7464.jpg http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo234/shortsonfire80/IMG_7463.jpg http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo234/shortsonfire80/IMG_7462.jpg http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo234/shortsonfire80/IMG_7461.jpg http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo234/shortsonfire80/IMG_7460.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151343-spaceit-seems-to-go-on-forever/page/6/#findComment-1854335 Share on other sites

War Angel
one thing thats kinda sticking out to me (its really the only thing off that i can see, i dont know why youre so hard on yourself) His chest peice and abdomon are one and the same, and theres no ...idk how to say it, but the neck...thing. where the head goes. unless thats a common way of doing true scale Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151343-spaceit-seems-to-go-on-forever/page/6/#findComment-1854551 Share on other sites
Shortsonfire79
The chest/abs are supposed to be a solitary piece. I don't understand what you're talking about for the neck thing though. War Angel
ah, ok. was wondering if that was the case. maybe its the angle, but you know how theres that little spot for the head to sorta fit right in? and how theres that bit in front that sortof levels off and is kinda chin hight i would guess? well maybe its just the angle but it looks like youer guys head is just sitting there. theres no like, collar around the neck hole of the armor Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151343-spaceit-seems-to-go-on-forever/page/6/#findComment-1854666 Share on other sites
Shortsonfire79
Theres no visible collar, but theres not much I can really do about it. The instructions are basically 2 pictures of a before, and after. So I was basically doing this work on my own...so I really didn't care much. And. I'm essentially done. Fastest project ever. Looks like crap, but its okay. http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo234/shortsonfire80/IMG_7472.jpg http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo234/shortsonfire80/IMG_7473.jpg http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo234/shortsonfire80/IMG_7474.jpg http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo234/shortsonfire80/IMG_7475.jpg http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo234/shortsonfire80/IMG_7476.jpg Sorry for the semi-blurry pictures, I'm working on manual focus, and its hard to see whats in focus and not. Brother Captain Andrecus
Haha! Terminator on Tank tracks!!! Best Termi conversion ever! Also, if your cut-it-off a Termi chest eagle isn't working right, here's a idea: Submerge the eagle in hot water (a bit hotter than the right heat for tea...) for about ten seconds or so (use a tweezers to hold it underwater...) until it's more pliable. If ten seconds isn't enough, hold it under longer, until it bends easily. (Some people use salt for the "salt dipping" method of repositioning minis, but hot water is cheaper and almost as effective...) Then bend it around the CM's chest so that it fits better. Those ammo feeds look really cool, BTW. Your "Counts as Marneus" is coming along well. Can't wait to see him painted up! Shortsonfire79
Thanks! The thing about the eagle. I can get it to fit, its easy. The thing I have..is that I can't get it thin enough to look good. It sticks out too much. Sanding is a pain, and I don't want to use my knife anymore. Thanks on the ammo belts, except that they're way bubbly. I need to make them more square, but if I sand them, then the grooves will go away. Brother Captain Andrecus
Try shaving them down with your knife, very carefully and with great precision. Also, a bit of paint should make it look better. As for thinifying the eagle, just keep at it with a file. Place the file flat on the table and stick the eagle on top, then just push it back and forth on the file with your fingertip... It'll work eventually. You're too hard on yourself dude. It's a great conversion. And now I need to sleep... 1:26 here on the East Coast... Shortsonfire79
I think I might do each block individually, that way it might look better. =-P The eagle: Thats what I do, but it slides off the file sideways, its annoying. I've already had to do it for a good 10 minutes. wiplash
the tank track dude is really good but overall i think he is too small for it dont get me wrong the tracks themselves are really cool with the dower blade and exhausts, but the terminator torso isnt big enough for it to work. would look great for a thunderfire cannon though. Brother Captain Andrecus
I've already had to do it for a good 10 minutes. That's no surprise... Though the kind of file you're using might make a difference. I use a diamond file. Filing down plastic might not be a diamond file's intended job, but it does it very well! I got two of them for two bucks at a local market. He is too small for it, and I had already tried to make the tracks smaller. The hieght isn't a problem, but width, hes just small enough to fit on a 40mm base. I'm glad you liked the dozer blades, I didn't think anyone would see them. It might work for a thunderfire, I know this guy's torso is way small, and the way I attached it isn't very good at all...but I dunno... Thanks Thanks Mick! Though the kind of file you're using might make a difference. I use a diamond file. Filing down plastic might not be a diamond file's intended job, but it does it very well! I got two of them for two bucks at a local market. For this, I'm using the GW square file. I'm not using one of my Diamond tipped, because they're not wide enough. Diamond tips are for gems and rocks...which is where I bought my set, a rock show. =-D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151343-spaceit-seems-to-go-on-forever/page/6/#findComment-1855715 Share on other sites
