Captain Malachi
I ended up uploading this pic earlier, so I thought I'd show them off here and see what everyone thinks. What do you all think?
Honda
I think you are off to a good start. If you don't think you are done yet, then you might try mixing a little Codex Grey with your base purple and then highlighting some of the musclature to add a little definition to their skin. Also, you could drybrush a little grey on their hair to help that stand out a bit as well. Keep up the good work! Cheers,
Kuchinawa
On the new dwarf no less  3 things that I want to nitpick at 1 the Gore, now unless they should have red tips, I would go back and redo the blood. Make it messy. 2 Eyes the grab of the model. Seem a little thick. The one on the back right's looks funky. 3 Bases. Ok ok ok I know, That green seems a little Meh to me. I say buy some green flock, Glue and dip.N I really like the hair and teh color scheme. Nice shade of purple. Keep on going man, looking good. Captain Malachi
Thanks guys, feedback is always appreciated. Kuchinawa, you're right on the eyes, it's not so obvious on the model, but looking at the pic I really need to do it again, as for the gore, can anyone give me any tips to improve it? (without resorting to lonewolfs gore tutorial.)
Captain Mick
I like them only the skin is to purple imo :).
stinkenheim
I've only put blood/gore on a few things, but i normally go for a mix of red gore, red ink, brown ink, gloss varnish and water. Make in quite thin and just build it up takes time but i think it looks good. Andy
Captain Malachi
Thanks stinkenheim, but I can't get inks any more, so are there any other colours that would work well as a substitute? Some of the washes perhaps?
Brother Richard
My thoughts on blood and gore...If you want to keep it easy... Scab red dry brush a few edges on the blades/claws..done! I'd post a pic...but the only one I have is orky!!
Captain Malachi
I think the mods will let you post pics of an ork if it's for demonstration purposes, won't they?
Alys Dwr
if it was just a close up of the weapon covered in blood i'm sure ther would be no problem. For blood i tak a bit of blood red, some PVA/wood glue and mix together with a bit of water. It goes pink but the glue dries clear and leaves you with a shiny red. Add a darkish red base coat first and put the blood red mix over the top leaving some of the dark red showing and BAM - blood. You models look nicely done, but i do think the hair needs a bit more depth to it. Drybrushing with a slightly lighter colour and then washing with a slightly darker one would do it the world of good. Al
Kuchinawa
AH I didn't know you wanted a Tut. Alys Dwr beat me to my claim to fame gore recipe. PVA/White Glue+ Blood Red+ Small Sand (just a pinch) + water http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj100/Kuchinawa212/Minis2014.jpg It's on his gorechild Sorry on my tardyness. Captain Malachi
Thanks guys, that gore does look pretty good, I'll definately give it a go. :D
Kuchinawa
Cool, Love to see it when it's done. Also I gotta ask, (I don't have any of these models) Do you have to add the arms your self? If you do then they look very flush with the model. Nice work.
Captain Malachi
The shoulders are attached, the lower arms are cut off just above the elbow, and you may say good work but it took about six tries to get it right. Such an unbelievably thin join. Kuchinawa
Still the modeling is very well done. I love see what you do when you get some gore on the claws. :) :( They look really good next to some chaos marines.
Captain Malachi
They look really good next to some chaos marines. I wouldn't know, I'm pure daemon. :( And yeah I'll post some pics when I get the gore done, probably won't be for a while though, don't have all the materials needed right now and other things are needing to be paid for first. :D
Frost Knight
for the blood if you add less sand and a bit of black to make it look like ichor. < i still dont know how to pronounce that word :D
Captain Malachi
ichor. < i still dont know how to pronounce that word :( "I kor" I think, and that's definately something to think about.
Kuchinawa
Pure deamon guy huh? Don't let my GKTermys see ya :o Frost Knight brings up a good point, how do you want the blood to look. Just like bleed all over the claw or "Aww that's going to take a week to clean off" type gore?
Captain Malachi
I'm not sure to be honest, basically I want it to look like they've just torn some poor sods guts out, thing is, I'm not really an expert on what blood looks like, so I really don't know what it should look like. Kuchinawa
Ahh Looks liek rips out guts huh? And not on bloodletters? :P Ok Blood it going to spray like mud. So think of what a truck or ATV looks like after a trek in mud. All splattered. I suggest a good deal of blood on the claws and some sprinkle on the rest. Use the toothbrush trick to "spray" the model in blood (blood red) and then use the gore detail above (maybe a little green stuff susages for Guts wrapped on teh ends of teh claws) and go to town with blood red and scab red.
