The Silent host attacks

Asmodeus' Swordhand

Recommended Posts

Caedo loosened his sword in it's scabbard. Rain dripped from his black Corvus helm and armoured soldiers as he observed the approaching troops. Three tactical squads, Lamenters. His vox connection came online, filling his helmet with sound, “The scouts are in place, Sergeant.”

“Wait for my command,” came the soft-spoken reply, no sound of which passed beyond his helmet. He slowly slid his glittering sword from it's scabbard as the lamenters marched past. He wielded, even through all his years of fighting, the weapon he had forged for his initiation, and it served him well ever since; nonetheless, now, as he bared the adamantium edge of his beloved blade, he regretted the necessity to turn it upon fellow sons of the emperor. He motioned his Brothers, and silently stepped out from cover.

Completely aware, he could feel the raindrops landing on the tip of his sword as he advanced. Without a sound, he stalked to a position behind the closest Lamenter, and with cold hatred slid his sword into the back of the marines head. At the same moment, The sound of nine guns broke the night silence. Seven of the yellow clad traitors fell to the ground, including the one taken by his sword, who made a gurgling sound with his vox speakers. The surprised sergeant of the squad spun around with a battle-cry on his lips, yet before he could shoot, a sniper round struck the side of the head, and scouts rushed in from the other side of the path. Caedo charged. The Lamenters acted, quickly forming a hedgehog, but not swiftly enough. Three Talons scouts broke through the outer line, their swords flashing about them too fast to follow, all the while backed by withering fire from Caedo's Squad. A scout fell as an armoured fist slammed into his side, but not before he could fire his shotgun. Muzzles flashed and swords whirled as Caedo found his mark again and again. He leapt past a fist aimed at him, and with cold fury executed the wielder: Spinning, he brought his sword in an underhand arc that sliced through the Lamenter's back. He completed his spin just in time to intercept a furious blow from a chainsword which he turned with an awkward twist of his arm. The chainsword was up again before he could ready himself, but he leapt to the side and landed, sword ready. The enemy sergeant was faster than he'd anticipated, and with a scream of, “Die Traitor!” the chainsword struck down with unbridled fury. The blow severed Caedo's sword, and forced him to maneuver to the side once more. Knowing it was his only chance, he leapt at the sergeant and tackled him to the ground, jamming the stump of his sword into the soft armour on the enemies elbow. The sword struck true, and the sergeant's elbow cracked, forcing him to drop his chainsword. Caedo stood and raised his foot to stomp on the sergeant's head, when his vox crackled to life once more, “That's all of them sergeant.”

Caedo stayed his foot, “Take this one to base. He may have something interesting to say.” The Lamenter's sergeant, who heard nothing of this due to the Night Talon's unnerving disabled vox systems, kicked and thrashed as he was dragged back to the trees screaming: “Die heretics! Worthless traitors!” Caedo turned to the scout sniper, whose shot had killed the first enemy sergeant, “good shot Brother.” He nodded in reply.

All the bodies were dragged into the trees, and the bloodstains on the ground were covered with sand. Back in the trees Caedo entered Commander Sparrow's vox channel, and gave a report, “We have disposed of three squads of Lamenters, Commander: two brothers lost, one injured.”

“Good work Brother, report to the main Host. Coordinates 619, 1287. May your blade strike true, and your footsteps be stealthy.”

“Yes Brother Sparrow,” the vox connection winked out.

Very, very good. I truly enjoy a good story of stealth. Most SM stories are now just all 'Charge in an' kill 'em all!' A truly enjoyable read. Maybe I could do it some justice in an art form, free cuz I like the story a lot. I would only need details on the chapter and whatnot so... Yah.
