Here is the first test model for another DIY chapter I'm working on. They are a Raven Guard Successor called the Falcons of Kiavahr.

*GASP* BROWN MARINES?!

but jokes aside, interesting colour scheme. are you going to be putting squad markings on the knee pads?

The black knee pad is going to have a white number representing the company they're from. The typical squad markings will be on the marines right shoulder in white & the chapter badge will be on the marines left shoulder in white.

I don't get the joke though...

there was been a long standing stigma about painting brown marines. Not there is anything wrong with it (some B&C members have beautifully pained brown marines) it's just a running joke.

Is it brown or desert yellow? Cause that would make for a cool camo. U.S. SPACE MARINES!

There is only one thing I don't think matches well, and that is the red straps. Just not a fan of it. If you can make it bright white. The rest is great.

The armor is tan/khaki & the straps are actually a leather color. The pictures don't show the colors properly I'm afraid. I'll see if I can get a better picture of it up. I think I might changes the straps to a steel/gray color. But this is how it's supposed to look:

I quite like that. that is a great colour scheme. perhaps try using a lighter brown, maybe even mix your current with a bit of bleached bone.

Thanks for the comments on the scheme guys! I really appreciate it. This army will have to wait until my current Chapter is finished. I just wanted to paint up a test mini to get away from the green. Here's a better picture that shows the leather color on the Jump Pack straps. I still think I should change it to a gray/steel color.

Congratulations, it seems your Falcons have a sister chapter. :(

It's a bit funny, yesterday I was paining up my own test marine. I was very surpriced when I saw this thread and realised that your marine looks quite a lot like mine. The only differences are the color nuances and that my chest eagle is dark, not grey. I was even thinking of making mine a Raven Guard successor too. :nuke:

I'll post my own test marine when it's finished, but until then you can see my idea from the SM painter.

P.S.: Your marine looks really good. Keep up the good work. :)
