Skoby Posted December 1, 2008 Share Posted December 1, 2008 wow nice job, love the effect on the sword (which I have just spent the last half hour or so stealing for my terminator sergeant) my one criticism is that the blue-ish grey of the base doesnt have enough contrast with the armour, but thats nothing really. garreth Posted December 3, 2008 Author Share Posted December 3, 2008 It's head from SM Commander boxed set, not from chaos rhino. Quick tutorial: You need only two colors - Dark angels green (DAG) and Skull white (SW). 1) Paint sword DAG as base layer. 2) Mix great amount DAG with very small amount SW and water, and then paint thick lines like a fur-tree, and on the edges (not so thick ;-)). 3) Add another little amount of SW to the mix and paint next layer (this time thiner than previous). 4) Do step 3 for 5-7 times, every time adding SW to the mix and painting thiner lines. 5) At the end - paint with pure SW on the very edge of the sword.
