But, I decided that I wanted one. So, here's my first effort to make one. Pretty sure it's not game legal, but I like it. Comments and criticisms welcome. Leonaides Posted December 4, 2008 Share Posted December 4, 2008 Any particular reason for a lasgun rather than a long barreled sniper rifle? I'm guessing this is what you had in your bits box available? I'd probably tyrand put the other shoulderpad on him or maybe give him a cut-down pad (snipers get special kit after all) and make the barrel of the rifle longer if you can... SterlingTheFaceless Posted December 4, 2008 Author Share Posted December 4, 2008 Yeah, that's just what I had lying around. I play Chaos and some Tau, and I can't really use bolters or any Tau guns. It's Just an experiment, but I'll definitely try it out on my friends. I was thinking I would write a data sheet, and make it easier for him to hit (he's a sniper after all) and maybe call the weapon strength 6 or 7. Just had a quick read of the replies.....there's some great info and some excellent tips/links to other projects, with help to make it appear "legal". It seems as though the majority like your work, so keep it up! Keep making cool conversions and stick them in here. I'm trying to motivate myself to paint the 100 Marines + Honour Guard + Command Squad + HQ and Support staff I've accumulated over the past few months. In fact, the rhino I made sat in its box for 2 years before I got around to it. If you come up with any conversions (or wicked paint schemes), just send me the link. Brother Styphus Posted December 8, 2008 Share Posted December 8, 2008 I know it's a little too late, but you can actually make a decent looking sniper with a bolter as the base. I saw a quick tutorial on B&C long ago but can't remember who made it (go check the Bolter Conversion thread), but I made my own a little after. http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r120/Jaffar_Hasad/Dark%20Angels/Testsniper.jpg Just take the barrel and the armpit brace of a lasgun and file off the barrel of the bolter.
