DuffMcWhalen94
I'm new to the B&C, but are there any players or gaming clubs in the St.louis/Clayton area? I live in Clayton and the nearest GW is a 40 min. drive. can anyone help out? mjk6y9
hey what's up. actually the 40k community is just beginning to grow and its a great time to get into the community. currently there's not alot of action going on but multiple stores have promised running leagues january or february. if you're willing to make the drive fantasy shop St. Charles has a weekly league on tuesdays and they easily have the most active community. but miniature market in webster and game on in des peres/kirkwood have an open GW gaming night on thursdays. most people in south/west county are just getting started so I wouldn't expect too much but at least we're growing. I hope I helped you out, later. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/154429-gamig-clubs-in-st-louis-area/#findComment-1801197 Share on other sites
drgabe
Do you have an address or link to Game On? Fantasy Shop has Tuesday Night open gaming which I hear is pretty active (personal life conflict, can never make it). Miniature Market has high hopes to become a very good store, but has very weird hours. Currently the STL environment is very scattered with little to no organization, which is sad considering where it was three or four years ago. Cavalier
If you're interested in driving across the river, there's a place named Heroic Adventures in Edwardsville. There's a pretty diverse group of armies for 40k and Fantasy. We also hold monthly tournaments for both systems. General Ravensong
I imagine a lot of these places will be frequented by a few more customers than usual because GW pulled out of the St. Louis Mills Mall (and is purportedly doing the same in all of the mills malls as I've heard from staff members in both STL and Layton plaza) and they pulled out of Gurnee Mills a couple months back. I happen to be on the St. Louis University campus during the school year, and I'll probably be going there every once in a while, though the public transportation system will make those trips a lot less frequent than I'd like. If there's anyone on the SLU campus (or anywhere near here for that matter, UMSL, WashU, SLU High, etc...) let me know if you're interested in a game or what not. I've got 9000+ points of Vampire Elves and I'm creeping up on 1500+ points of Space marines (you'll have to bear with me on the rules for 40k, i've only gotten 2 games in thus far) [On that note, if you happen to be looking for woodelves and want to trade them for space marines, dark elves, mortals of chaos, or VC I've got some Dryads, Eternal Guard, Glade Guard, a handful of way watchers, and a couple characters who'd like a loving home.] I'm literally 2 blocks away from the Grand Metrolink stop, and I'd advise taking that because there's no free parking on campus. I've got a pretty decent sized apartment to game in and a couple tables that I can clear off, or if you'd rather stick to the standard table size we can tape off a section of the floor lol. Edit: February 08: Stopped by Miniatures Market on Saturday and I was greatly impressed by the place. I got a couple of games in with people who were patient enough with me and my constant flipping through my codex looking up my weapon stats (I've played a total of 4 games thus far, and it's not like I don't believe them when they say things, I just like knowing where in the rulebook it is for later). But yea, good community, good selection of minis for fantasy and 40k and some other non-GW games and minis. You can probably count on me being their most every weekend that I don't have something I need to study for.
