eyescrossed Posted December 28, 2008 Share Posted December 28, 2008 Okay, here's the deal: I've just started CSM, and have enough models to do a 1500 point force, but I don't know what to equip my terminator lord with - he's currently like this Lord, Mark of Nurgle, Terminator armour, Personal Icon and Combi-melta - 150 points and his bodyguard 5 Chaos Terminators, Icon of Nurgle, Champion with 2 LC's, 2 PF, 1 CF, Combi-flamer and Heavy Flamer - 255 points. Rain Posted December 28, 2008 Share Posted December 28, 2008 I'm not too big a fan of terminator lords myself, but I would say a pair of lightning claws is among the most dependable things you can give him, a daemon weapon is good as well, although he can hurt himself with it making it a risky venture. the jeske Posted December 28, 2008 Share Posted December 28, 2008 weak , slow and over costed . best thing you can do with a lord and termis is 4 man squad 4 combi weapons and a lord with wings in a land raider for a 2k pts lR rush army that uses 3 LR. and by best I dont mean that it is good . TDA I'm giving him a chainfist because he has more attacks, which is good - the chainfist's the same price on termies IIRC, so on the lord, you get more attacks for the same price. My main reason is that I love the chainfist he comes with, and he'll survive to attack unless VSing something with a ton of power weapons, like howling banshees. travh20 Posted December 29, 2008 Share Posted December 29, 2008 I have a terminator lord with twin lightning claws and MoK. 6 attacks on the charge is nice. I just got a box of chaos terminators that I am going to use as his escort. I plan on making them champions with Mok,, 4 with power axes, one with chain fist. SO that would be 20 power weapon attacks on the charge, plus the 6 at I 5 from the lords LC's, and to top it off 5 power fist attacks at the end. I think that would ruin anyones day. I also give them 2 combi meltas, a combi flamer and a heavy flamer. The termies come out to 265 points, the lord is 140, so 405 points. That is a lot of points, but I am hoing it is worth it. In a vassal game I played to try it out they wiped out a mob of like 25 orks and mad ethe war boss run away like a little girl (of course the 4 5+ invulns I made helped out) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
the jeske Posted December 29, 2008 Share Posted December 29, 2008 That is a lot of points, but I am hoing it is worth it. not really , if you foot slog them or teleport they are waster 400 pts that will rarelly see any hth [unless someone plays gunline , what no one in the 5th should]. you could buy a LR for the unit [making it a wooping 600+pts unit] , but it would still be only a single LR and 600pts spent on no meta non troops choice , that can max counter 1 unit per turn . for 600 pts you can buy 4 oblits and a dakka pred . In a vassal game I played to try it out they wiped out a mob of like 25 orks ofcourse you do know that 25 orks cost less then 400 pts ? check what happens if someone buys a lash prince and some oblits for 400 pts and how good your footslogging unit of terminators+lord is doing. Leonar the Nutter Posted December 29, 2008 Share Posted December 29, 2008 i agree go powerfist, that chainfist looks so badass, :D yep it maybe not the greatest combo but so what a cool looking model beats a gamegood model any day, he has 3 wounds 2+ sv 5 invun, so he should be able to aleast weather the first storm, as for the termy squad, perhaps remove one of the powerfists, as you dont need two and a chainfist, if you have the heavy flamer, you dont need the combi flamer get a combi melta instead incase you run across any dreads, two ways to use them, deep strike, or LR, both are goood, sure deep strike will take alot of fire but then your other units arnt getting shot, and if you place them behind terrrain to get a cover save your army. Put it on a aspriring champion with the icon of khrone, that should give him enough attacks. Tkaing fists on lords is always a really bad idea. Just switch to lightnig claws or a deamon weapon. Sons of Horus Posted December 30, 2008 Share Posted December 30, 2008 i think you've miscalculated since they don't get a bonus unless they use double weapons. 4 termies is not 20 attacks. 2 basic +1 MoK +1 charge = 4x4 = 16 that's just 16 attacks.
