Asterixlee
Oh, see I was thinking of having the Chapter mark on one shoulder (In my case, the twin head of Morkai) and then on the other shoulder, put a bold rune over a background of whatever colors the pack was affiliated with. So i'd paint my blood claws the red/yellow motif and then either paint a rune over it, or use a rune transfer from somewhere. In this way, my each pack of blood claws would have a different rune that distinguished them. muzzyman1981
I see what you mean, that is a good idea. I would paint it to be honest, would look more realistic plus you could make it look like they just brushed them on themselves (as the armor would have been painted by thralls but the Blood Claw rune would most likely have been painted on by the Wolf themself after he was assigned, and as a matter of honor and comradre and his packmates). All just my opinion. Grey Mage
No I dont use Eldar runes on my wolves LOL! though that would be hilarious with some of the stuff I used to pull in the Fang Bar and Grill. No, I free hand paint runes that take up 90% of the shoulder pad. Runes are fairly basic shapes.... after all, the whole universe is made of them. muzzyman1981
Heck, you could just make stuff up. Give a pack a rune, give it a certain meaning of your own and there you go =D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156046-just-getting-started-fluff-and-a-bit-of-rules/page/2/#findComment-1826618 Share on other sites

My Thoughts exactly. Heck, you could just make stuff up. Give a pack a rune, give it a certain meaning of your own and there you go =D Also my thoughts exactly! EDIT: Anyone know a good source for a complete rune compendium and any meanings they might have attached to them? Grey Mage
This is what I send younger pagans to, as Ive found it to be rather accurate for the most part. WG Vrox
I have had some nice success in doing runes with GS, gives it some depth and is pretty easy. Venter_Of_Russ
I generally have the initials of my packs written in runes; most of them are just two letters (Laughing Axes, Howling Moons, Fangs of Purity, Heads of Morkai, Claws of Redemption). As for the AoBR box... get some bulk green stuff (www.thewarstore.com sells it on the cheap) and have some fun. Fur is as a rule easy to model w/ green stuff, and a few trophies here and there can turn a tac marine into a grey hunter with no difficulty. Also, if you wanted to go light on the customization, the blood claw/grey hunter boxes come with fairly unique marines, and the upgrade sprue has plenty of spare pelts/heads to have fun with. Most of my wolves are AoBR, but few know it... I even turned the captain into a wolf priest by turning his cape into a wolf pelt cape/cowl combo (Lots of green stuff, drew the collar up over his head and formed it into the wolf's head for the cowl).
