monkey boy
It seems quite important to me to be able to keep rhinos moving but is it worth the 15 points? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/157019-rhinos-with-extra-armour/ Share on other sites
JamesI
Extra armor is so rarely needed that I don't include it on any vehicle. Just one out of 6 damage results need it. Not worth the points. monkey boy
Just one out of 6 damage results need it. When you put it like that it does seem like a waste of 15 points. Koremu
Mostly, Rhinos get to where they are going easily enough as long as there are other vehicles about to draw fire. minigun762
Not at all. Its almost 50% of the cost of the Rhino itself. 3 naked Rhinos is only 5 points more than 2 Extra Armor Rhinos and I think 3 would last longer. If I took any upgrades on a Rhino it would probably be an extra TL Bolter (Storm Bolter for Loyalists) to double its firepower and make it a bit more of a threat to things. EDIT: Now on a Land Raider, sure its worth it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/157019-rhinos-with-extra-armour/#findComment-1836491 Share on other sites
monkey boy
Thanks for the replies you've got me convinced on rhinos, but what about dreds, they can after all assault so would extra armour have any merit with them? Edit Perhaps I should explain what I do with my dred, may be a tad more helpfull. I drop it behind enemy armour ans shoot my MM and pray it survives, wastefull yes but the look on his/her face always makes it worth it, problem is the tank seldom dies, so perhaps extra armour would be helpfull to let my dred assault the tank next turn. Dreads are the one place i put Extra Armor (and even then usually only on Furiosos) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/157019-rhinos-with-extra-armour/#findComment-1836583 Share on other sites

Yeah for you Loyalists with worthwhile Dreads, Extra Armor is a worthwhile additon if you kept the DCCW on your guy. Captain Idaho
I wouldn't bother with extra armour on any model now it costs 15pts and is going to be used 1 in 6 times, but then I take many many vehicles in every list so that gets expensive for me!
