King_Pash Posted January 18, 2009 Share Posted January 18, 2009 Came across this situation last week at a friendly game. I have a plasma cannon I wish to fire on a squad. I nominate a squad. Do I: a) Place a template and measure the distance to it. <_< Measure the distance and place the template within range as long as it covers at least one model. When you have line of sight to a unit, do you have to place the template on a model you can see (the front rank so to speak) or can you pick a model in the middle you can't see. Take your predecessor's advice: always check the big badass book! B) The answer is spelled out quite clearly in the third paragraph on page 30 of the 5th edition rulebook: "pick one enemy model visible to the firer and place the blast marker (…) with its hole over the base of the target model".
