War Angel Posted January 29, 2009 Author Share Posted January 29, 2009 Really interesting conversion - looking forward to seeing the Marine drawing his pistol from his holster, that sounds pretty cool :P didnt really think about this part of youre post untill an hour ago, but when i went to reply about it i frogot what it was i was thinking about. what do you think a good pose for this guy's left hand would be? ive realised now that the only left hand pointing powerfist is the slightly older veteran CC squad (its the Squad leader) personaly i think this is the best choice, however other good choice's include.... looking down at an aspex, i like this cause its kinda like -Beep beep BEEP- "incoming, grab youre weapons" the only bad side is, aspex's have been removed from codex, and im like to have things that work. i wouldnt put a scope on my rifle if i was going to clear a building now, would i? regular pointing finger, only good from this is he can be a regular marine with his squad again. bad thing is it takes away from a very unique vet sarge opritunity. bolter...only good would be A, regular marine again, and B, its always cool to have left handed marines, there more rare then female marines these days. bad part would be, i can do that to any one, and why would he be drawing a pistol?? some ammo sure, but a pistol??? thanks for youre input, tomorrow night i'll drive home and take some pics, shame this is practicly dieing because of last weeks problem. whats more a shame is the stryker is REALLY going to be held back thanks to this... we will weap for her. Justin Kase Posted January 29, 2009 Share Posted January 29, 2009 I actually like the idea of looking at the Auspex "Head's up, we've got incoming", even if it isn't in the codex, it is still a cool pose;) Another option is a drawn sword extended and pointed in the direction he is looking, as if to point out "There the are", as he is drawing his sidearm. As much as it may hurt you (or you dont give a damn, but i like to pretend you do) It hurts me that much more (i cant work on my little plastic babies) i'll TRY to have somthing posted sunday, emphisis on the word try. if i do manage to get these pic's up, it will be due to the fact that sunday where going to try and work early so we can pull chalks and get home for the big game, So it will be after the super bowl. this will depend entierly on how early i get off sunday. sorry to let you guys down. (which is next friday, so theres really only a few hours i have to work on them... so lets change the schedual for my NEXT next game. well, as always C&C please EDIT: i hope to have my chapters fluff posted up tomorrow night. it should be getting close to done for real this time, but ive found that reading it and rewriting things into differnt sections has really woven things together with it all. The GS conversion on the marines are pretty neat, but the basework could be a little neater. War Angel Posted February 10, 2009 Author Share Posted February 10, 2009 ok... i couldnt get the fire to look like it was blue (the hottest fire gets) comming out of the flamer... in fact it looks green ....odd. also, on the first vet sergeant, i cant really think of what to do with the cape...things... and if you didnt notice, the scroll on his leg... kinda looks outa place. the one on second squad i painted striped gold/white....on the advice of a friend, how does that look? should it have a name? my friends advice was to do it like, cause it would look cool, which it kinda does... but i needed more, so he said it could show his companys colors, But if this is my drop company, does gold and white seem like it could signifie drop troops? and if it does, and i use it as my companys colors (i would have to do a flag colored like so) Should i use that patern for the SSGT's cloaky thing? any advice would be nice. further more, If you spotted something that looks odd, lemme know so i can fix it up. C&C please. Edit: the flamer guy, i gave him that chest peice that has the higher colar guard to it... it would seem my eagle patern helms dont quite fit in there.... advice? Second, your white is too thick (much like most peoples I'm afraid), so use thinner layers. The colours themselves are nice, good contrast on the models. I think the helmet on the Vet Serg. looks great. ;) When Hubernator says the white is too thick he means that it looks lumpy and coarse rather than smooth. A good example is the third pic of the Vet Serg. Are you using the paint straight from the pot?
