Show me your tanks!

Recommended Posts

I'm working on painting another Ultramarines tank, and as I get into it I'm looking to implement more techniques and ideas for detailing into my work, so I'm hoping people can post examples of their tanks, not just space marine of course. Any help is appreciated, especially those with darker colour schemes and good examples of how you kept your tanks looking painted (aka not so bloody dark!) with highlighting, metallics, or whatever else worked for you!

Thank you all in advance.

For darker tanks you can do lighter color edging. I did a dark grey for my Black Templar vehicles.

There are better painters who can do a better job of it. I also add a fair amount of decoration

Another example

Hope thats what you were looking for.

Sorry, no ultramarine blue here but maybe you can get an idea or two anyway.

Ok this one's old but i thought it might help since its pretty much all the one colour but i tried to break it up with smaller details & bitz, extra insignia etc and a bit of dirt/ battle damage to make it a bit more interesting... also as you mentioned i found that metallics help break up what would otherwise be pretty bland...

Thanks all for the great pics! They've definitely helped give me some better understanding for how to bring my tank into the light, as it were, as well as some other ideas. I have been working on trying highlights on the raised areas/edges and introducing more constrating pieces, as well as good detail and metallics.

Some amazing tanks above, and much appreciation here for all your efforts in helping me!
