Quasarcq
I finally got around to painting my standard bearer for my sisters of battle, the order of the Intrepid Hearts. I had a stroke of creativity and designed the crest today and got down to painting the flag and bearer. The flag was from the old empire/orcs starter box. The flag had to be shortened to fit on the pole. I also had to pin it since the flag has once came unglued before I painted the model. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3521/3252073910_c33d5a0ab9.jpg?v=0 I thought of the design and did one sketch before I put paint to the banner. I still have to work on the inscription which will probably say, "Intrepidus" Contrary to the name I will probably run the banner as a sacred standard rules wise. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3132/3252072310_0d88a6543d.jpg?v=0 This image is a little clearer. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3084/3251247739_3a44ccc375.jpg?v=0 After having done the front I was not excited to have to do the whole thing over on the other side.... I did it any way of course. It still needs some touch ups. I wish I had a steadier hand to do the boarder work.
SpeakerfortheDead
Looks really nice. You might consider just going over the boarder again with a thinner coat, it will make the outline thicker, but perhaps cleaner. You got the rest of the freehand down, you should be able to pull it off ;)
