Sanguinary Guards - akaranseth p.8

Allright, how were the bases done...

Juggernaut:

The top part of the base was removed so only the rim remained. The center part on which the juggernaut stands was sculpted and fix in the base. Then the rest was filled with skeleton heads and other parts, painted that filled with tainted resin for the blood.

Drone:

The base was initially airbrushed from yellow to black passing by green. Green tainted resin was then poured on top leaving the airbrushed colors showing through.

Otherwise I am not registered on dakkadakka... I might look into it but you can always follow my progress on my site. Right now I'm still unsure if I'll paint the commissar, the new demon prince of khorne of FW or the Chaplain dreadnought of FW.

Sir, I must say congratulations on the awards! I hope to one day be capable of painting like that. I'm nowhere close but I know I'm getting better. Hopefully I will be capable of such painting but until then I will admire yours!!!!!

Congratulations on the Golden Demons - thoroughly deserved! ;)

I must say that I like the Blight Drone even more than Akaranseth - the rust and the 'body' of the drone are beautiful - in a disgusting Nurglish way! :D

May I make a suggestion with the Khorne Daemon Prince? Try to do his flesh more of a black or grey, I think it would set it apart from the masses of other Khorne daemons out there and look really great to boot. I've been trying to figure out how to do it myself for my Bloodthirster, so if you can think up something let me know!

hey man cant wait for your GD UK model it's going to be insane. im going so i'll be on the lookout for it if you enter of course.

Don't worry, I wouldn't be going to GD UK if I wasn't planning to enter! And it will be a duel and since it's space marine kind of thingy I might be posting the wip here!

Hey Akanarseth, what colors did you use for your deepst shadows?

I'm mixing pretty much just GW colors since my other paint supplier fell through... Red Gore, DA Green and Liche Purple. Did you do something similar?

Just curious. We're goign to have similar juggernauts, I think O_o;

You can see the final results for the Khorne Demon Prince here: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=174519

Sorry but I had to move in the middle of this project and finished it on site at the hotel and morning of the GD so I had no extra time for wip shots...

Otherwise here is a preview of my GD UK entry:

very very nice! eager to see the dread finished now B)

how are you gonna paint the iron halo, a debate amongst my friends is silver washed with black for a dark metal look or gold with light on the armour so it looks like light is coming off it.

keep up the frankly stunnign work ^_^

Well there is some change for GD UK but it is still some space marine so I am back here for a while. So it is a landspeeder storm ready to redeploy. There is stilll some finition in the assembling process, accessories to add, battle damage, the arm of the sergeant to link to the speeder and so on but the structure is there.

The heavy bolter gunner stashing his bolter before resuming his post:

One wounded ready to patch himself:

Finally, to avoid all the trouble while painting most of the thing isn't glued yet:

The title:

Recon Mission: objective destroyed... ...redeploy...

Otherwise i feel like yellow...

I think one of the things that people often overlook when looking at a very well painted model is the assembly. We notice a good paint job and good conversion work immediatly. But let us stop to appreciate when somone had taken the basic GW kit and assembled perfectly, with no mould lines, cracks, or crevices. The clean assembly is key to these competition winning models and often goes unappreciated.

That looks great

My land speeder storm is almost done and I was thinking of doing the same thing with the gunner hanging off the side

Have you got another support or are you using the leg/figure to hold up the vehicle (with internal support)?

I wanted something like this where the anti-grav vehicle is floating but has a hidden support

The spotter under the speeder is also pinned to the pipe. Originally it was supposed to hold only from the leg of the scout sergeant but since the foot rest is made of plastic the speeder was leaning over the other side a bit too much so I had to give it another holding point to fix the situation.

After a disastruous undercoat I am finally started on this project:

Base coat:

Tonight I either start the detailing of the cockpit, or a festival of chipping!!
