akaranseth
I work in a gaming store. A few weeks back I announced a new challenge to get people painting. It's pretty simple. Over 8 sessions of 2 weeks the participants have to paint a specific type of troop for their army. If you are done on time you accumulate tickets for a draw and the winner will leave the battleforce of his choice. If you do not finish on time well you are out. In order to encourage people I decided I would enter the challenge. So yes over the last 2 days I've started painting an army, something I haven't done in years! But don't worry, with 1700 points of Blood Angels I came up with a list composed of 22 models and 2 landspeeders or 26 models and 3 landspeeder. Not sure yet about which one I choose in the end but eh... So this session it was a troop so here is the family: . http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a140/akaranseth/DSC_0120-1.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a140/akaranseth/DSC_0126-1.jpghttp://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a140/akaranseth/DSC_0125-1.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a140/akaranseth/DSC_0124-1.jpghttp://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a140/akaranseth/DSC_0122-1.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a140/akaranseth/DSC_0123-1.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a140/akaranseth/DSC_0121-1.jpg For those of you who actually play the game you might say that Hey! That's an elite choice!!! Well yeah you are right but since I took Commander Dante as a HQ well now they are troops and yes the army is solely composed of sanguinary guard which explaines the 22 or 25 models (depends if I take Sanguinor as well or not...). And speaking of Dante, well since next session is HQ here is the simple conversion to bring him up to par with the angel theme: http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a140/akaranseth/DSC_0116-2.jpg And the bases, if you are wondering, are from the Lost Empire set from Dragon Forge and they are simply awesome!!! Both in style and quality! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/160459-sanguinary-guards-akaranseth-p8/page/8/#findComment-2390205 Share on other sites

Natanael
Your Sanguinary Guards have to be some of, if not the, most awesome minis I've seen! Durus
This is by far the best paint scheme I've seen for these models. Great choice of colors. You managed to make them an eye catcher without being flashy. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/160459-sanguinary-guards-akaranseth-p8/page/8/#findComment-2390401 Share on other sites
igotsmeakabob!!
Are you planning on adding writing to the purity seals and scrolls across their chests/shoulders? Seriously though, this color scheme is fantastic. I'm not very happy with you right now, because I don't play a successor chapter and so will paint my Sanguinary Guard the standard scheme. This scheme, however... sob. You made it rock. Kaaosurpo
Great scheme and execution! How do you achieve the natural but bright white on the armour? Nougat
Digging the purplish-red color, both on the Sanguinary Guard and on the Scout bolters. I think your color choices probably help your models stand out more, even in an event like the Golden Demons where there are a host of amazingly painted models. Awesome work!
