The Damned
Got a request to post some of my Legion of the Damned models. I wanted to do something a bit different with my legion so I decided that I'd use the Chaos SM codex when playing these guys. I wanted to open up some modeling possibilities. Here is what I have done so far. Here are my Legion Bezerkers http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm295/amorison/NEW%20Legion%20of%20the%20damned/005.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm295/amorison/NEW%20Legion%20of%20the%20damned/021.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm295/amorison/NEW%20Legion%20of%20the%20damned/024.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm295/amorison/NEW%20Legion%20of%20the%20damned/008.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm295/amorison/NEW%20Legion%20of%20the%20damned/016.jpg

the thousandth whisper
:pinch: those models are just twisted and odd... I LOVE IT!!!! Where are those scythes from? I also looove your painting style it's so dark, nice idea with using the chaos codex. But Fluff says that legion of the damned aren't actually chaos and I'm not really digging the berserker head on the legion of the damned berserker. then again, I'm a real devout fluff adherant <_<
barek
... LOVE IT!!!! ... I'm not really digging the berserker head on the legion of the damned berserker. ... And that's the one I'd like to see more pictures of please? The one with the berseker head? Awsome job b.t.w.!
The Damned
Fluff says that legion of the damned aren't actually chaos and I'm not really digging the berserker head on the legion of the damned berserker. then again, I'm a real devout fluff adherant :) I only chose chaos because I wanted a way to fit regular skeletons into the army. With the SM codex, I wasn't sure how to do this. I thought maybe they could be scouts but I ended up not liking the idea. My plan was to use skeles as deamons but that idea has long since evolved into something else (I'll post pics in the works in progress). As far a fluff, I think I've read every scrap of literature regarding the legion. I just figured my way would give them a little touch of character. Ultimately, I want to give the impression that all the members of the legion have some how been betrayed or forgotten. It doesn't matter if they chaos marines or loyalist marines, the legion takes all!!!! I don't subscribe to the Fire Hawks theory. I will post more about the background as this thread progresses. If you look at the group pic, you will see that there are two bezerker headed legionaries. I'll add some more pics of them later.
Rob_Loken
Dude those are awesome! (Sorry Jeff Bridges just hijacked my computer). But he's right. Those are sweet. Good job on the flames and the scythes are a great touch. I'd love to see more.
heavens henchman
Absolutley awesome. I love the scythes and your flames are amazing. I may have to use a scythe now for my legionnaire commander. The conversion work combining the skeletons and marines is very well done, all the bones are inline with the armoured bits making it believable that they are skeletons in power armour. well done I can't wait to see more of your army. Naysmith
This is definetly the best Lotd ive ever seen. There is so much atmosphere in each miniature. The bones and the flesh tissue giving them a spookie look. Great work keep on posting pls. cya (sorry for spelling)
Exanimo
This is alot like the way i wanted to make mine aswell (once i get the ordered bits and GS) but i wasn't quite sure how to do the arms and legs where the powerarmor is gone and the rest is supported by the thin bones... do you use a metal frame (wire?) in those bits? Great work and i hope i can get mine just slightly as awsome as yours.

The Damned
This is alot like the way i wanted to make mine aswell (once i get the ordered bits and GS) but i wasn't quite sure how to do the arms and legs where the powerarmor is gone and the rest is supported by the thin bones... do you use a metal frame (wire?) in those bits? most of the skele parts are from the Skeleton spur. In my experience, GS and super glue are strong enough to hold the peices together. These are very cool, I'm guessing you'll be using the Chaos Codex? Correct, I've got my deamons all put together, but not painted. I need to post in the WIP section, soon. but where are the scythes from? Hahaha, sorry I didn't get to your question earlier. Back in the day I bitz ordered 10 parts for something(they were 99 cents). Instead of what I ordered, GW sent me 10 of the classic wraith models from the undead line. I didn't care cause it was a pretty sweet deal. I knew imediatly what I could use them for. I cut off the blades and attached them to the skeleton warriors spears. Presto, scythe armed bezerkers. I then glued the spear tips to the wraiths and used them as my old deamons.
