Your berserks look more undead because of skeleton arms or legs. These are "only" marines apart from the one in the middle. I prefer the obliterators and the berserks, but still a very good paint job.

Your Conversions look better a thousand times and have so much more flair. Stick to your own Design.

Its awsome, unique and somehow telling a story making the Lotd even more mysterious.

Thanks for the feedback.

Since any model that isn't a troop choice is heavily converted, I wanted to make the rank and file marines all fairly simple. This why there are only a handful of bolter armed troopers that have a lot of visible bones. the only conversions on these guys are bones and flames that I sculpted onto them. I feel like these guys will really anchor the idea that, it is in fact a Legion of the Damned army. If I added a bunch of skele parts to them, people might just think it is a flame/bone wearing chaos army (even though I use the CSM codex). It does get fairly confusing I guess. Once I get around to it, the aspiring champ who leads each squad will be heavily converted.

I really like your stuff, top-notch. ;)

Oh and I think using the Chaos Codex is a good idea, it fits the character of this army. Especially when you consider the current C:CSM is more of a Renegade Codex than Cult-driven.

very nice

for extra toughness mark of nurgle?

I eventually want to have a squad to represent each of the chaos goods chosen troop types. I've got the bezerkers but not sure how I'll do the rest.

I wanted to make it look like my Legionaries are coming to the aid of some Ultramarines in distress. So I started adding some small details to make it look like the troopers are based on the ruins of war torn UM structures. Eventually, I want to make sure there are plenty of glimpses of UM debris scattered throughout the army. When I get around to making objective markers, I plan on modeling wonded UM. For now this pic shows what I've got. The fist model shows an UM smbol painted to look like its covered with dirt and mud. The second has an small UM symbol with laurel reefs I sculpted onto some rubble.

My 5th Ultramarines would love to have your damned by their side in combat!

They are truly an amazing take on the Legion of the damned!

May you show us a picture of the entire army ? :tu:

I'll be happy to post a pic of all the models I have so far. most of them are base coated black. It will be a bit before I'm done with the whole army.

Yay, my favorite time of the week (happy hour a close second), UPDATE TIME!!!!!!!!!!

Here are pics of the completed Legion of the damned Servitors (noticed a few small details that need to get picked up). Lil' Buggers took forever. I know what not to do when painting large areas of NMM now at least.

Here are the first couple.

Here are the other 2 guys. There are 5 more of these guys that have only been base coated so far. I'm looking forward to having a whole squad of these guys.

Almost forgot, Here are the bases the buggers are standing on. The theme for the bases on all the guys is a war torn city scape with lots of ultramarine stuff laying around broken and destroyed. I want to give it the feeling where you can't tell if they're helping or hurting the ultramarines. Once I get the army up to 2000pts I'm going to add some objective markers consiting of the wounded spacemarine models, painted to look like ultramarines. Hopefully that will tie everything together.
