The skeletal bits is something I'm hoping to pull-off for my nurgle army, I'll be happy to achieve results even half as good as what you've got. ^_^

Thanks for all the great comments!

@Iago

Since I'm using the chaos codex for my legion of the damned to open up more modeling possibilities, the servitors will count as lesser daemons.

@ Mr Esty

Glad you like it, Thats one of my favorite models as well. Looking forward to what you come up with.

Small update. After a few long weeks at work, I've been able to sit down and get some painting in. I gotten about 75% of the highlights done on the black armour, which is always the most time consuming part for me. Hopefully I will have some more time this weekend to keep painting away on these guys.

@ Brother Dalo - Never fear, I'm just about done with a massive (well, massive for me) batch of models. Here is what is comming up

- 10 Bolter armed Legionaries (just need to re-touch up the highlights and paint the bolters)

- 6 Assualt weapon armed Legionaries (Just need to re-touch up the highlights)

- 5 servitors to complete the 10 man squat (about 85% done)

Wrapping all this up is my goal for the weekend.

@ Juckto - Good to see you poking aroung in this tread. I've really enjoyed following your progress on your LotD

@ Lysander - Thanks

Great to hear. I have been following this thread and can't wait to see your update.

P.S Sorry if my comment came across as "necro-posting with a rude comment". It was most certainly not my intention and thanks to juckto for pointing this out. Keep up the good work

Well, due to breaking my leg about a month ago (up and walking around now), I found my self with quite a bit of free time on my hands. I ended up spending most of this time modeling. I was able to wrap up all of the Legion of the Damned items that have been sitting on my desk for the better part of a year. I managed to get about 21 models wrapped up.

Seing how my last update was for my servitors, I thought I'd continue along these lines. Here are the remining 5 servitors that bring the squad up to 10.

Here is a close up of the leader of the squad (no real impact rules wise, I just like the idea of this squad having some sort of a "task master"). As mentioned in prvious posts, I'm trying to make it look like the LotD is coming to the aid of the Ultramarines. Evidence of this has only been shown on the bases so far. I tried to make the Task Masters back banner look like it was made from the remnats of a Company banner. If you look cloesly, you can see the skulls and flames attached to the banner are made to look like they are stiched on (at least that was what I was going for).

I will get the rest of the models I finished posted soon (9 bolter marines, 4 Flame throwers & 2 Plasma guns)

Hope you like, C&C appreciated!

Here are some standard bolter armed Legionaries

Here is a more close up shot for some detail. I wanted one Legionaries to look like he was in the process of reloading. I was really happy with how the golden bolter shells turned out. GS'ing the bolt on top was a bit of a pain.

the only problem I have with this is that LoTD are supposed to be slow and purposeful some of those guys are moving pretty fast

Yeah, I thought of that as well. The problem is that I started this army years ago (I'm a pretty slow worker), which was well before the current SM codex was out. Back then, there was nothing about the Legion being slow and purposeful. So with no such restrictions, I wanted an army that looked like it was relentlessly bounding forward while unleashing a torrent of gun fire. Even with the new rules tweak, I like the overall composition of the army and I don't plan on altering it. Just my personal taste :P
