Lock up yer Deamonettes - The Grey Knights are here!

Had a few weeks off to recharge the batteries. Managed to snag this model from Ebay and got down to slapping some colours onto him. Gotta admit, really looking forward to using big K in some battles, I like his style of thinking with Orbital bombardments!

Big K came already assembled and modded into the step pose, a friend very kindly had a rummage around his bits box and pulled me out a suitable foot stool, a chaos marine seemed somehow appropriate!

Just putting together 4 of Scibors latest to add to the 'counts as' Paladins and also gonna start on an Inquis Chimera some time soon, got a shark warhound to try and get finished right now though so me time is precious!

That is one fantastic looking Karamazov there! I'm not usually a big fan of the model because I think it's a little too cluttered - too many gobs and bits and details here and there, but the way you've painted the throne presents a beautiful contrast with the glowing blue blade in his hand. It really helps to have a "point" the eye is naturally drawn towards.

I also love those flames on the braziers. May I ask how you did those? They look simple yet elegant.

I agree, I didn't know where to initially start on this one as it's all over the place, the fact that it was a first model after a 3 week break didn't help matters, I always find it hard to get back into the mood. Add to that I had to break in a couple of new brushes and Big K nearly ended up at the back of the shelf in the 'do later' pile on several occasions!

You know, now you mention it that blade does make a nice focal point, I really didn't like it at first either, thought it stood out too much!

The flames are really easy, base them with a mustardy yellow of your choice, wash of red ink then highlight them with a brighter yellow untill your happy. After that blend a little orange and then black on the tips, that's it!

Wow BulldogUK that has to be the best painted version of old Karamazov I have seen in a long LONG time! I agree with A Melancholic Sanguinity, with a model so full of "ultra-details" all over the place, you've managed to bring it all together and make it look 100X less busy. Love it :)

I'm sure luck had a big part to play Mr.Malevolent, could have easily gone t*ts up at any point :)

Anyhoo,

Couple more Scibor 'Paladins' added, looking quite a formidable force now!

Bravo Bulldog! I was wondering whether you were going to splurge out on the new models and update your Paladin unit. The new Templar model, and even the Archangel (holding the daemon's head) could fit in well with your collection too imo, as long as it's possible to clip their wings...

EDIT - Grammar.

Hehe Oiad, great minds think alike...it is possible to remove the wings, they come as a seperate entity...I just finished painting him! (will post soon) I also have the latest release incoming, the bald fella with the Halberd, that will put the unit at a strength of eight...we are slowly getting there!

Chimera done, the boss can travel in a little more comfort now!

Kept the same red/black scheme so it matched the existing Razor/Rhino

2 more Paladins added, again both scibor, the dude with the head came with a nice pair of wings, obviously not needed for this situation!

I have been debating on whether or not to get the Hector Rex model, you just sold me!!

I look forward to viewing all further pictures posted of your beautiful army.

Made a little time between commission work to knock out this Crusader, another ticked off the list!

Went together like a dream and fun to paint, will be putting some pennies by to bag Dreamforges Mortis model in the future

Decided to go with a GK theme to compliment my ever growing forces but tried to keep it pretty generic so as to be able to use it in pretty much any gaming system that requires a giant death dealing war machine!

Or even a replacement Dreadknight for those people that thought the standard GW ones were a little anorexic and required a month at the gym (well this is the result)

Besides...I like shiny :P

The primary weapon config, BIG GUN, BIG CHOPPY THING!

I ordered an additional BIG GUN so in it's secondary weapon config of 2 x BIG GUNS I reckon it could give even Chuck Norris a run for his money...

Here are some ref shots of the GK walker clan now, I bobbed the FW Reaver in there so you can get an idea of size..Odin as always looks down fondly like a doting mummy dog on her litter of little shiny puppies, aaaaaaahhh

I often find its not really about how much you got coming in Deathknight, more like how much your willing to throw into the bottomless pit we call hobbies ;)

4 cups of tea from one tea bag and beans on toast for supper go a long way to allowing bully to play :D
