Danny Cyanide Posted March 30, 2009 Share Posted March 30, 2009 Hey guys, Well, I figured I'd take on another large project since nothing exciting is happening right now in my World Eaters Army, just a bunch of troops (I will update that project soon...) I had an Apoc game 2 weekends ago at my local GW which I found out about 4 days before. I decided that I was going to paint up my Warhound for the game, so while he's looking pretty decent right now, there is still a whole lot to do. None of the interior has been touched, and there are still a ton of details to pick out on the exterior. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. So, during the game, I fell in love with how the Warhound worked out that I decided he needed a big brother... He has World Eater standing on him for scale reference. Should be about 30 - 34 inches tall when done (likely closer to the 30 inch side). Let me know what you guys think. BOLS Warlord Titan Looks big enough to me... Anything in the 30ish inch range is big enough! Plus, there is no way I'm starting over to scale it up another 3-6 inches... I looked for a template for a long time and was never able to find one. Finally, I decided to just go for it, found some nice pictures and gave it a go.... I'm not particularily fond of the face, Let us see some more customization on the rest. Great paint job on the Warhound. Nice Flames. I like the pose as well. Danny Cyanide Posted April 1, 2009 Author Share Posted April 1, 2009 Got some more work done today. Most of the leg structure is now built. He doesn't have any feet yet, but all things in good time! Currently it's standing 31 inches tall. We'll probably break 33 once the feet are in place. Here's a couple shots, one give a pretty decent scale comparison between the Warlord, FW Warhound, An"ggrath, and a regular World Eater. Comparing him and the warhound to the scale shot in Apoc, I think it's looking about the right size! DuskRaider Posted April 2, 2009 Share Posted April 2, 2009 You're going for a Banelord, right? If so, I'd suggest a skull for a head (I'm sure you could find one at a costume & prop store or online). Make it more Khornate and give it giant bunny ears, or do a giant Khorne symbol as the armour on the front carapace. You know what I mean? Have the top part of the symbol span the front shoulder plates, the bottom would be where the carapace ends. I hope this makes sense, since I'm having trouble explaining it. EDIT: After a completely amatuer paint edit, I can show you what I mean! I think I will give the skull route a try, and if I winds up looking bad, I'll try something else. I do like your Idea of making the paneling in the shape of a Khorne symbol! Not a bad idea at all! This is the skull I'm looking at right now. I like that it has a sight cone shape to it, giving a little bloodletter vibe. http://www.frightcatalog.com/i/600x600/1015029.jpg I think I'd try and add a bionic eye, and possibly fangs to the teeth.
