The Contemno Lux lucis.

A Styx Class Heavy Cruiser of ancient make transports its defiled cargo. Chaos Marines. Towards a Hive world known as Arrak Boss by the followers of the Flase Emperor. It was a carefully modified Styx. Designed to fly beneath detection by all conventional methods. Though it was still vulnerable to detection by the Astropaths and other Psykers who happened to be looking the right way Arrak Boss itself didn't really rate a powerful enough Psyker to detect them until it was too late anyway.

Within it the Chaos Marines prepared for this, an unusual and unexpected 'united front' a ploy all the Chaos Gods agreed was in their best relative interests. Not important enough to warrant Daemons or actual full-scale war but important enough to send a Coven of loyal Chaos Champions whatever their guise.

Their goals were dependent on their patron god mostly. But each was explicit and specific.

Slaanesh

Find the 'Talas of Kriel', an archaic blade nearly ten feet in length sheathed in shimmering Eldar energies. The Myth says it is the guardian to nearly a thousand score Eldar Soulstones lost long ago. Its Guardian rumoured to be an Eldar Wraithlord of some power.

Nurgle:

Unleash the "Vomica Nunquam-Nex" the plague of the never-death upon the world and use find the artifact of Slobbering Embrace.

Khorne:

Find the Serrated Malice, a daemonsword of some ancient power and use it to take the heads of the planets ruling class.

Tzeentch:

Turn the people of Arrak Boss against the Imperium and use their services to locate the Liber Infinitus Vox and artifact of near unlimited power.

Undivided:

Take the collected Daemonic Artifacts and use the Liber Infinitus Vox to invoke all the artifacts power, including that of the baleful tome itself, and as a result sowing the seeds for a second eye of terror, this time much closer to the homeworld of the Imperium. Holy Terra.

For this the Gods selected their most loyal and obedient subjects to send to this world quietly. Where they would work from within and turn the world into a daemonworld surrounded by an impenetrable warp maelstrom which would grow ever after. A team who were assembled for their ability to put aside their differences if ordered and work together to serve as the downfall of the Imperium. Or die trying.

RULES:

1: No Godmodding. You're Godlike but you're not actual gods. You aren't going to just walk away from a Volcano Cannon, or even a Lascannon for that matter ^_^

2: No controlling other players Characters without express, and explicit, permission. NPCs excluded naturally.

3: I tell you to change something you change it. I will only do it when it needs doing, either because you were over the top or its a needed part to 'move on'

RESTRICTIONS:

1: There may be ONE Obliterator OR Dreadnought. First come first served. (NO other vehicles of any type except the Dreadclaws we arrive in will be present.)

2: There may be ONE Noise Marine.

3: There may be ONE Bezerker. (Personally I don't think they belong so i'd rather you didn't.

4: There may be ONE Tzeentch Sorceror. Taken

5: There may be ONE Plague Marine. (In fact its a requirement, if no players take it i'll NPC it.

6: There may only be TWO Possessed Chaos Marines.

6: NOTHING Above Champion level may be taken. You can be marked with the Mark of a Chaos God but as you know that doesn't make you a Bezerker/Rubrics/Plaguers/DeathMetallers.

7: NO Terminator Armour.

8: You can only take legitimate Wargear for a Chaos Champion.

9: Minor Mutations are fine ;) (Very long tongue headed by an eyeball would be ok. Wings would not.)

Example: (Will also serve as my Character and the "guiding hand" of us all. He is the only Chaos Lord present and the only one exempt from the Terminator Armour rule.)

Name: Kadaeux Soulslayer

Legion/Warband: Dominatio Vastatio (Warband typically led by Kadaeux)

Height: 9'6"

Description: The Terminator Armour worn by Kadaeux is thoroughly ornate, its dark blue adamantium edged with metal and highlighted with warp-forged bone. They glisten with the names of cities and ships slain in Kadaeux's name. The skull adorning his right shoulder whispers the names of everyone slain by Kadaeux, it is a mark of honour that Kadaeux has never heard it begin to repeat itself. His skull-headed helm hides a face worn by time and adorned with ten millennia of scars.

Wargear: 2x Lightning Claws, Stormbolter.

Temperament: Cold, calculating and thoroughly evil. Kadaeux is at war and he'd kill, and eat, a billion little girls to win.

Mark: Undivided.

History: Kadaeux was one of the Lunar Wolves in the Great Crusade, fought alongside Horus and Abaddon and all the greats. He decided to take his own men loyal to him some time to stake their own claim among the powers of the galaxy. They served none but the Gods themselves now. At least a dozen worlds have directly fallen at Kadaeux's hand in that time. But this time he hopes to number holy Terra amongst them. Should they succeed his armour would never have to repeat itself.

Icarus Daemon

Blood Wings

8'7"

He has long red(as in orange) hair with black horns protruding from his forhead, slightly more slender than most marines, his armor is black with red trim, the armor has the icon of a single black wing with 1 drop of blood in its middle, the armor has few trophies so he can make himself seem weaker to his so called "allies" on the mission. He wields a single power sword with 2 black wings as the hilt and a blade of solid red with a chain on its hilt which allows him to go kratos on his enemies ( sorry for the reference i merely figured it to be an easy way to describe what he could do with his sword). He is a raptor.

He has a power sword ,and meltabombs

He is ambitious, smart and will use anyone and anything to get what he wants. However luckily what he wants is the success of the mission

Undivided

he can go kratos on his enemies... his swordmanship is better than most but, unlike most with a flair for close quarters combat he never goes into a berserk rage. Occasionally events that would normally kill him seem to"coincidentally" never actually kill him such as a bolter shell missing his face by a hairs breadth,

Daemon was a member of the blood wings, when they fell into chaos he decided to leave with a small ship filled with the lost and the damned to seek power and favor with the gods. He constantly hears whispers of promise and of power and greatness which led him to every planet having a large scale battle and every time he has aided the side of chaos and has helped to win many of these battles. Though in the last battle he lost his weak slave troops and the battle and has followed the whispers of chaos which led him to his current mission.

Name: Arcaneux Nightwhisper

Legion/Warband: Faith Hunters Warband

Height: 8'7"

Description: Arcaneux's power armor is rather plain for someone of his rank among the Faith Hunters. His armor is black with dark red shoulder guards, lower legs, and gauntlets, all with bone trim. His helm has a blue horse-hair tail on its crown as a mark of his allegiance to Tzeentch. He wears bone colored robes with black trim over his armor as a symbol of his place in the Hunter's Sorcerers Conclave. He wears no trophies as he sees them as pointless.

Wargear: Power armor, dual bolt pistols, two-handed power sword (counts as power fist), frag and krak grenades, Gold bound tome "The True Path"

Temperament :Manipulative, charismatic and stealthy. He prefers to build up a group of followers, usually mortals, to use as distractions while he accomplishes his main goals, whatever they may be. Among his fellow followers of Chaos, he tends to be a uniting voice, as he believes it is the duty of all followers of Chaos to remain true to each other...at least until the Imperium is brought to it's knees.

Mark: Mark of Tzeentch

Powers/Abilities: Shroud of Faith: A minor psychic ability that allows Arcaneux to influence weak willed mortals to do his bidding. The Shroud's influence takes time for its effects to be seen, so until he converts several followers Arcaneux tends to remain in the shadows. In combat, the Arcaneux uses the Shroud to uplift his converts, reinforcing their will to fight beyond that of the servants of the Corpse-god.

History: Arcaneux doesn't talk about his history before joining the Faith Hunters, but for the past twelve centuries he has faithfully served the Apostle of Death. First as a warrior of the line, then as a second seat sorcerer as his devotion to Tzeentch grew. Given his unique powers, Arcaneux was assigned to infiltration teams to pave the way for his brethren.

Since his powers are not, at present, meant for direct combat, Arcaneux uses his bolt pistols to soften up his enemies at range before charging with his long-bladed power sword, Infidelis Trucido or Slayer of the Unfaithful. He often fights among his mortal converts in order to bolster them with Shroud of Faith, but once they have served their purpose he will abandon them to whatever end the Architect of Fate has in store for them.

Since devoting himself to Tzeentch, Arcaneux has come to believe that he is destined for a greater purpose and rank among the Faith Hunters. He has been saved numerous times by Tzeentch from attacks that should have killed him, but Arcaneux believes it is best not to test his god too much.

Name: Sapphon

Legion/Warband: Black Legion

Height: 8' 7"

Description: The space marine glanced around the hangar, his freshly painted black armour sucking the light. On his chest was what remained of the imperial eagle that he had once so proudly carried. The glowing bionic eye fixed on the dreadclaw that had been designated for him. The time to prove himself was nigh.

Wargear: Combi-plasma, bolt pistol, power sword.

Temperament: Cold, calculating and ruthless, he is here to prove his worth.

History: A former sergeant of the Imperial Fists, Sapphon fell to Chaos when the small force he was attached to, came to attack by the forces of Belial Neigorath. During the final stand of their forces, Sapphon finally succumbed to the doubts in hearts and shot his force commander to the back, taking his wargear to himself. Pleased with such a delicious treachery, Neigorath has invited him to join the Black Legion, provided that he can prove his worth by undertaking a small quest...

Picture will be forthcoming once I've painted him.

Good and accepted. Though is he marked or undivided?

A couple more and I can work on the start of the "In Character" thread.

Note, I would like some more marked troops. (Though don't take Marked if you don't intend to stick with the RP, the Marked Troops are required to fulfill the God-Specific conditions.

Name: Alastor

Legion/Warband: Knights of Blood

Height: 8'8"

Description: Alastor wears the Black and Red Armour of his order, and is equipped a well crafted power sword and his prized Plasma Pistol.

Wargear: Power armor, Power sword, Plasma Pistol, Frags & Kraks

Temperament : Alastor is not one for subtle schemes and his intentions are clear, to retrieve the Sarreted Malice for his order (and himself). Although a warrior of Khorne, martial honor and disciple are equally as important for him as the fury of melee. A constant battle is waged in Alastor’s mind for control over his blood thirst, to lose this internal battle would be to cast aside his honor, and lose his place in the Order of the Blood Knights. Alastor takes the most delight in one on one duels with enemy champions, only against equal opponents can he prove himself to his order, and his God.

Mark: Mark of Khorne

Powers/Abilities: As a warrior of Khorne, Alastor detests pychic abilities, but has always been endowed with the so called, "Honor Duel" ability, where he can call out all but the most controlled and disciplined minds to come forward and defend thier honor in a one on one duel to the death.

History: Alastor has slowly risen in the ranks of the Order of the Blood Knights and has succeded in leading a squad for many years. He is a Knight of the 2nd order (Champion squad leader). Alastor has chosen to undertake "The Quest" Where a Knight is given an objective to accomplish, and if successful will be induceted into the 1st order, and given access to a prized suit of terminator armour. The quest can not be failed, and a Knight must persue it till his own death, no matter the cost or how long it takes. If for some reason the Quest is not longer possible, the trial is considered failed, and the Knight is to offer his own skull to Khorne so that he may retain his honor. Alastors quest is to retrieve the Sarreted Malice and unlock it full potential by baptising it in the blood of the rulers of whatever world it rests on. Alastor has been on the quest for 8 long years now, and believs he has finally found its final resting place. He will not allow anything, or anyone, to get in his way, his life depends on it.

I'll wait a little bit to see if we get more players before I put up the IC thread. The IC thread will be up within 12 Hours regardless (unless I sleep in ;))

Note: The RP will still be open to new players after the IC is up. (We will receive reinforcements from time to time.)

Nice idea, but as I don't have much time to play i'd rather be a Champion if thats ok.

Name: Friedhelm the Impaler

Legion/Warband: Black Legion Khornate warband

Height: (whats with all the overly large heights guys ? SMs aren't that large.) 7'3"

Description: Friedhelm has been serving the Lord of Blood for many millennia. He is dressed in the usual Black Legion heraldry and carries a large Chain Axe instead of the normal Combat Knife. In keeping with most followers of Khorne Friehelm is a powerful swordsman who lusts for the Blood of his enemies. (Chain Axe counts as Power Weapon)

Wargear: Bolter, Bolt Pistle, Chain Axe.

Mark: Mark of Khorne.

Temperament: Moody and Proud outside of battle, in battle he loses himself to the Blood Lust.

Powers/Abilities: BloodLust: Once in the thick of battle Friedhelm loses all sense of self preservation, with the screaming warp entities clawing at his mind for more blood Friedhlem becomes a nightmarish beast, intent only upon spilling Blood in Khornes name.

History: Friedhelm was one of many who fought and was wounded in the long fight of the massacer of Istvaan V by taking a Bolter Shot to the arm. Freidhelm was lucky that an Apocatry (spelling ?) was nearby and he somehow survived his wounds. However they toke him out of the war and Friedhelm never got to storm the Imperial Palace, something he is bitter about to this day. It was then that Khorne first started wispering to Friedhelm and after the Black Legion all but disbanded in many small warbands Friedhelm was free to collect Skulls for Khorne.

*quick question though, why dose khorne want to take the heads of the planets ruling class ? wouldn't it be more Khornate to take every citizines head of and allow the blood to flow onto the streets ?*

A: Accepted :o

B: We are CHAOS Marines, plus I think most of us (including myself) are including the extra height granted by the armour.

C: The specific ritual requires the skulls of the ruling class, anything else is a bonus. ALL of the Chaos Gods objectives in this are directly related to the ending ritual, we are quite naturally expected to otherwise give the Chaos Gods their due payment (Plagues, Skulls, Excess and Knowledge.)
