Call of Chaos/Imperium

Recommended Posts

My camera died last night. Not sure if its just the crappy batteries I tried to use in it, or if its dead for good. Hopefully I find the charger for my good batteries soon and can restore its machine spirit.

In the meantime I thought I'd post my starting points for my Calls.

Call of the Imperium

(1) Venerable Dreadnought Myrddin

http://fc28.deviantart.com/fs42/f/2009/097/7/9/WiP__Myrddin__s_Plasma_Cannon_by_Rindaris.jpg

I've got his plasma cannon done so far. The FW plasma cannon wasn't really an option due to time/money (I want to have this dread ready for the local 40k league as well). I've yet to receive the Missile Launcher and dreadnought body to begin work on them. I plan to sand down the sacrophus of an AoBR dreadnought and use one of the tutorial ideas to replace it with a terminator front and helm. I'd really like to do something else to make it stand out, but havn't thought of anything yet.

(2) Ironclad Dreadnought Cervantes

http://fc17.deviantart.com/fs44/f/2009/089/3/5/AK_WiP__Cervantes___Ironclad_3_by_Rindaris.jpg

Just need to get a base (should be in any day). I've got it primed and did a little work on it last night.

(3) Land Raider Redeemer Blaine

Standard Land Raider kit + FW Land Raider reinforced armor + FW Deamonhunter doors + heavy conversion

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/jeskasl/SANY0758.jpg

I would have more pictures, but my camera wasn't cooperating last night.

I'm going to mount the twin-linked assault cannon on a predator turret (actually using a Baal turret) on the upper hull and needed to fill in the front weapon mount with something. After some thought this is what I came up with.

(4) 2 Ordo Xenos Missile Launcher tactical marines, tactical Sergeant and tactical flamer marine

No pictures due to camera issue. However all are assembled sans one arm for the Sergeant (waiting on a techmarine bolter arm from a bits trade).

<---------------------------------------------------------------->

Call of Chaos

(1) Demon Prince 'Crimson King'

I read about a reference to a story in the Demon Codex of a Slaanesh greater demon possessing a Craftworlds Avatar and going to town with it. I loved the story and decided it would be quite fitting for my demon prince.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/jeskasl/SANY0592.jpg

Old picture. I've replaced the open hand with a claw from a demon spawn. Unfortunaly in an accident last night this model took a tumble and fell to pieces. I've decided that it'll be my first experience at pinning a model.

(2) Space Wolves Khornite Land Raider

I'm using a RT Land Raider I got my hands on and didn't end up using for what I initially had planned for it. Rather then let it sit around doing nothing, or just be another LR for my loyalist army I'd likely rarely get to use I decided to use it in this army.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/jeskasl/SANY0700.jpg

I need to remove the ravenwing lights in the front and replace them with something else, havn't decided what yet though.

(3) Blood Angel Berserker Champion

Sorry for no pictures here either... I'm using a BA shoulder pad I got from the Baal turret pack and going to use a possessed chest piece and backpack. I'm thinking about using an Ork Nob power klaw for his power fist.

Decided to finally update this (have been posting more regular updates in the Call threads)

Call of the Imperium III

Original Call Oath:

Venerable Dreadnought Myrddin

Ironclad Dreadnought Cervantes

Landraider Redeemer Blaine

Ordo Xenos Marines (just clumping these all together now, its easier then 2-3 marine updates)

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/jeskasl/SANY0787.jpg?t=1240932188

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/jeskasl/SANY0806.jpg?t=1240932332

In the above picture you can see the loyalist photo display I'm working on (since I'm giving up on the idea of a full tourney display board) as well as the gather bits for a Baneraider. I'm still short some, but got most of them on order now.

The Land Raider just needs to have the FW reinforced armor finished with modifications to allow the placement of the assault launchers and a gap along one side of the upper hull filled with green stuff. Delays caused by wife borrowing my hobby knife when I'm home....

I have two more completed marines that I need to upload photos of. I believe that should leave me with needing two tactical marines and finishing my 4 devastators to have enough Deathwatch to fill 2 tactical squads and one devastator. I'm going to put together another sergeant as well.

I began putting together my birthday Baneblade last night. I intend to either field it as a Felblade (ala BoLS rules) or a Baneblade with 'Chronus' in it. Either way making a nifty tank commander to go with it. The fluff behind my Deathwatch having it is pretty simple... Inducted Imperial Baneblade :P I mean the rest of the Inquisition can bring in IG... why not the Ordo Xenos? :P Actually I'll probably end up writing up a fluffy story to give it a better explanation, but for now its just assembly and painting thats on my mind.

I really wanted to wait to work on my Baneblade to give it more uniqueness and put more thought into it. But as I was working on the Drop Pod for Cervantes my wife complained saying that what I got myself I liked more then what she got me.... not true... just a Drop Pod I can, and will, use in just about every game. A Baneblade, not so much. Plus the Baneblade should have more thought and work put into it to make it more of a centerpiece of an army. Oh well... with the Deathwatch Ka-tet paint scheme I use I think it'll look pretty wicked all the same. Plus I still have plenty of FW Brass Etchings for the Inquisition I can add to it. Gotta say... if you order from FW the brass etchings are honestly some of the best value they have.

Though I do have a Vindicator siege shield and was thinking about mounting it on the Baneblade, just for looks.

For my Baneraider I'm going to use FW Land Raider reinforced armor door mountings for the sides. I'll have to carve into the track sections of the tracks, but in my opinion it'll retain more of a Land Raider appearance that way and won't make the side door look quite out of place. When I ordered the bits I didn't know about the small roads used to assemble the forward and rear track wheels, so I'll need to get those. Once I have those the only bits I should need would be the sponsons and hull weapons.

I'm also working towards another Dreadnought. Caeldeth.

med_gallery_32503_3313_52897.jpg

I havn't received the model yet, but should have it soon. Found it for a steal on Ebay. I'm planning on replacing the left (viewers) arm with a TL HB and the right with a TL AC. I've also already got a base ready for it. I just need to figure out the best way to strip that horrid paint off it. I also want to put something on the upper central hull to give it a mini-Reaver look. Just can't really figure out anything besides a searchlight. Any suggestions towards that end would be welcome.

I rather hope the runners of the Call of the Imperium are fine with how I'm doing my Oath. Wife lost her job so funds are limited (honestly shouldn't be spending anything.... but gotta do something to keep sane), and with her home all the time... less time to work on stuff. Argh. Hopefully she'll have something new soonish... been through this once already and doing it again is quite stressful. Thankfully the Call is 3 months, so I have time to do everything I task myself to :)

So for my Call of the Imperium III I'm wishing to add:

Dreadnought Caeldeth

Baneblade Felix (mostly assembled, few parts primed (primer ran out....))

Baneraider Sif (most parts gathered, very little assembly so far)

Bike-mounted Techmarine (using a servo-harness from a direct order Techmarine I never put together, most parts on order)

Loyalist Photo Display (hey, it still required assembly and painting)

<- * -> * <- * -> * <- * -> * <- * -> * <- * -> * <- * ->

Call of Chaos

Less progress here. Mostly because due to my current finical situation I'm going to halt real work on this army. I intend to finish my Call Oath and a few other pieces I've already got the stuff for, but thats it for the time being.

Call of Chaos Oath

1) Demon Prince Crimson King

2) Khornite Space Wolf Land Raider

3) Blood Angel Berserker Champion

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/jeskasl/SANY0772.jpg

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/jeskasl/SANY0776.jpg

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/jeskasl/SANY0798.jpg

My Demon Prince fell to the ground and broke..... not really surprising considering its based on a metal avatar figure. I've so far pinned together the legs and torso. I intend to paint up the arms begin putting them back on.

On the Land Raider I've covered up the indents from the original weapon mounts with Khorne icons. The siege shield I mentioned above on the Baneblade I was going to use on this model. I still will if I don't use it on the Baneblade.

The champion is next to one of my Space Wolf Berserkers. Both still need alot of work but are coming along. Just hard to be motivated to finish them when I don't foresee being able to field them in the foreseeable future.

I also made a Salamander Raptor Champion.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/jeskasl/SANY0801.jpg

Not wishing to add it to my call, though honestly its now the closest to being completed. Gotten alot more work done on it since this photo.

Alright, not much painting done this weekend due to other RL events. But some assembly and planning done.

My local gaming location is going to take part in the Apocalypse Campaign, so I'm going to try and get those 13 points. For one I need to paint up an Apoc Formation and I've decided to go for Masters of the Chapter. Two reasons. First is its a small one in comparison and thus cheap and more realistic for me right now. Second reason is I've been wanting to redo my Chapter Master in Termie Armor for awhile anyways and complete his Honor Guard, so this helps in that regard. I need to get them fully assembled and ready for painting pretty much asap.

This is also going to pretty much become my list to complete and then be done building for awhile list. It will complete what I've been wanting to do for some time, as well as provide me with 2 Deathwatch Tacticals, 1 Devastator and 1 Sternguard squad. I want an assault squad to for the battle company, but its going to have to wait until $$$ is more available.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/jeskasl/SANY0890.jpg

Power Sword Sergeant, Chapter Master Rindaris Synth'rad in TDA and last Sternguard.

The Sergeant and Sternguard will be part of my various Deathwatch marines for my Call. The sergeant is just an optional sergeant to field, but the Sternguard will complete that squad.

Master of the ????, Honor Guard, Chapter Champion

These are obviously purely for my Apoc Formation. The Champion looks totally wicked, but you can't really see it to well since it doesn't have a base yet. I'm really happy with how he turned out. The Master of the ???? was one I was going to use for my Captain of a Battle Company, but I've went with redoing Dracmore Garoth on a bike for that, so I'm going to make use of this model.

Call of the Imperium Dreadnought Caeldeth

I've decided to go with a Assault Cannon instead of a TL HB. So now I just need to decide on a base, adjust the legs and paint it up.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/jeskasl/SANY0891.jpg

Call of the Imperium Deathwatch Devastators

The one without a weapon on him is going to have a missile launcher. I've had the lascannon ones sitting around for quite some time and really they are quite overdue for being done.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/jeskasl/SANY0893.jpg

Call of the Imperium Deathwatch Marine

Just another filler marine. One of my 'meatshield' marines. Shield is just there for looks. Really looks nice and will be better shown once I get it on a base.

Call of the Imperium Baneblade Felix

I decided to paint up a bit of the tanks front and turret to see how it'll look in my Deathwatch scheme. And it looks quite wicked B) So I'm really hoping to have this done before my first Apoc Campaign match. I think I'd prefer to field it as a Felblade is the store allows them (and pretty sure they do) so I can get LD 10 across the board.

http://fc00.deviantart.com/fs42/f/2009/121/c/c/Dreadnought_Droppod_by_Rindaris.jpg

Dreadnought Droppod

I did finish this drop pod on Thursday evening. I really wanted it done so I could use it this past weekend, and I did :) Granted the pod and Cervantes both got nuked quickly in return, they did help wipe out a massive IG squad/platoon/thing... holding my opponents main objective in the first turn.

I really need to finish my Redeemer as well. Blaine would be very useful in the Apoc Games.

I havn't decided yet what my other three Masters will have. But I do want them to be close combat beasts, leaning towards two of them having plasma pistols and lightning claw. I've also built a lascannon-tl plasma turret for my razorback. And I've managed to get another Space Crusade dreadnought cheap. It has no feet, but I have spare dreadnought feet that should work. I know I'm going to give it a missile launcher, I don't know about the other weapon yet though.
