I cannot but echo all the previous adulation, and consider it Golden Demon-worthy, but as the thread asked for criticism...

The only thing that feels wrong to me is the shell on the back; though expertly done, the colour scheme chosen makes it look like a big out-of-scale bullet; this is partly inevitable because of the model (This is why I just left my one off, I preferred the look of an empty grab on the crane), but a duller colour might help this back off a bit.

Or, how about sacred inscriptions or dribbled unguents on the bullet itself? Such a large shell surely deserves the special attention of a tech-priest?

My very, VERY humble opinions on a stunning piece; at what point does colouring-in become high art?

Stuff like this makes every Ultras hater eat their own words.

Ha, only slightly =-D Its not the Ultra part of this tank thats cool, its the paint job =-D

Great attention to details...the mural is awesome, and you didn't fail to bring the detail all around the tank too.

Just plain superb. Top notch.

I will echo the previous comments, however that the carrier film on the Ultramarine "U" and the "II" on the dozer blade is distracting. You may want to carefully go back and it with some blue to cover them up. Nothing annoys me more than when I put decals on, use the Micro Sol and Set and then hit it with dullcote, only to have the film show. Grrrrrrr...

That is awesome, the freehand on that is beyond belief. However, with all that great work the Ultramarines transfer on the front stands out a bit

I agree. Since you can free hand so well... it would probably be best if you didn't use transfers at all (or hide them better, painting arround the edges to "blend" them in) as they really jump out and detract from the overall appearance.

Can't believe this is the first time I see this.

At first I coudn't believe it was freehand (almost if you placed a picture on it).

Can't really add anything already said here :jaw:

Just one question:

Any more projects you are working on? I'd guess we all would like to see some more stuff.

I don't say anything about your freehand because i could not say anything new. Just awesome.

Please do the following things:

- Grap your phone and order a Land Raider or Thunderhawk

- Lock yourself in a room till its done

- Post your result here

- Go to next GamesDay

- Get your Golden Daemon

- Bath in the glory you get :)

Thank you

Wow, that's cool!

I totally love that freehand, it's a while since I last saw something that brilliant. Good job, one of the best themes for a freehand like that, looks totally like ripped from the codex.

Those were the pros, then the cons...

The same bland ultra-blue and some highlights, the hull needs more depth, it needs to be more striking.

Otherwise, I love that vindie.

Spectacular freehand work Ricky, I have come to expect no less from you, lol. I am glad to have run across you here at B&C too, wasn't quite expecting this. I may still hate Ultramarines in general, but this vindicator is the best piece I think I've ever seen of yours. My only criticism for you is weathering. The vehicle, while a little chipped and dinged is still very clean looking, almost too clean to have been deployed to a battlefield, not enough dirt or grime for my taste, (that's just a personal opinion of mine and doesn't count for much :cuss) but even so, I don't think that detracts from the model as a complete whole really, it looks like you were going for art over realism and I think you succeeded admirably. You definitely have a skill set that I can envy.

thanks everyone.

o.o

Lee !

i didn't expected this, too.

thanks for your comment and you are right, i am don't like to paint a very weathered, dirty model.

i painted a lot of WWII american soldiers mini many years ago. so i am tired with realistic weathering.

and thats the main reason i choose 40k model or a new collection and why ultramarine not IG.
