oh, they are airsoft. I was about to ask if you were Charelton Heston. But excellent work on the fortress. I might have to give it a go myself one of these days after all of my projects in line are completed. And if I knew what a quid was, I'd say it was cheap :P

You know, I reckon you could make the £30 back pretty fast if you where to knock up a set of PDF templates to create such a thing... I'd certainly sling you a few quid for a copy.

Wowzers! That looks amazing! Also, I wish I had a room that cool! What are you preparing for, the apocalypse? ^_^

Vasquez are you a man?

No. Are you?

Not to be an arse or anything but it's:

Hudson: Vasquez, have you ever been mistaken for a man?

Vasquez: No, Have you?

Drake: You're just too bad

*Drake and Vasquez does a manly "handshake" and vasquez slaps him on the cheek*

(Oh yes, I'm quite the Alien geek :))

Ah, airsoft, I miss those good ol' days of good shooting fun... sold alla my guns, but still have all my gear (better outfitted than most soldiers :P)

I must say that you've truly made a sweeeeeet fortress ^^,

  • 7 months later...

Bagged a few 40k ruins and 3 boards on ebay just before Xmas. While the painting left a lot to be desired it was nothing an afternoon with the old airbrush couldnt sort out and the overall construction was pretty solid

Didnt want to waste much time on these, more for effect than anything else so I didnt bother stripping any paint away just added a bit of shading and highlighting as well as colouring the doors, etc. Will work over the boards and that road when I have a little more spare time.

Works out quite nicely actually, if I grab another insulation board and work it into the existing theme my fortress sits nicely on one end of the table with the ruins outside it's walls. Roll on 2010, now I finally have a an half decent table my year of gaming hopefully!!!

This is the condition they came in, looks like they were painted with a yard brush and concrete, ah well, at least saved me assembling and undercoating!

Quick going over the the airbrush and it's added a little more life to them

An overview of the city so far, everything is modular of course so there are endless combinations (got a bunch load of nice hills too)

That Fortress Is Amazing!!!!

I wish i could make buildings out of foam like that!

i've been trying to make a battle scape style terrain piece using a cut up rhino and some Clay, but the clay likes to shrink when it dries and turns the board into a spin top :/

Figured I should tag this one on the scenery thread :D

Recently bought the Aegis defense line for the Autocannons to use on a Grey Knight DN, I absolutely hate wasting stuff so was at odds on what to use the remaining bases for, suddenly after seeing a toy 'Wall-E' in the local pound shop it struck me....classic Dawn of War objective markers! Have always liked the look of these things, the way those dishes stick out at random angles just looks funky

With the aid of said toy, a few spare flying bases and a couple of bits from the parts box I came up with these simple offerings, great thing is I took the time to make casts so I have a unlimited supply of listening post objectives now...yay!

Of course interaction is the key to a fun game in my eyes so I decided to magnetize the weapons so for instance a tech could hang around for a turn and upgrade the passive version to a fully automated defensive death dealing Imperial outpost!

Passive version ready for any spare weapons I have knocking around!

sorting out the loose ends and odds n sods lying about the lair so finally got round to knocking these things up, a little bit of battlefield bling!

Fantastic work as usual Bulldog. Your site truly is an inspiration and I wish I had your painting talents.

I have seen the fortress before and am impressed with the sheer size and attention to detail of the monster!

Personally, I'm not in love with your objective markers as I feel the saucers aren't space mariny (if theres such a word!). I think ones similar to the ones you get on a Land Raider (but obviously bigger) would look better.

With regards to your Honoured Imperium Statues, cool paint job! Could you make a tutorial or do a step by step guide?

Regards, Brother Morgan.
