Don't laugh, this is my first short story in the 40k setting, but tell me what you think of it and what I could have added and whatnot. Thx.

Ork Hunter

Cyrus took careful aim. At this distance it would take a full second for his snpier bullet to shatter the skull of the massive orken Warboss, Bonesnappa. Then another shot would have to be taken to deal the killing blow through the brains of the now moving target. Then mobs of Ork Sluggas would be rushing toward Cyrus's position in a shrub he had concealed himself in on top of a hill about a hundred meters from his target. It would take them long enough to get there so that Cyrus could get away quick enough, but that wasn't the problem. The problem was-"WAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!".

The orks battle crie echoed for miles around, more than enough of a sign to tell Cyrus his cover was blown. He turned, and saw about a hundred Sluggas charging him from where the aforementioned problem was.....the Ork clan's base (which was really more of a massive campsite).

Dropping his sniper rifle and drawing his shotgun, the Lion's Roar, he cut down an entire half of the charging force before they even got to him, ripping limbs and displacing the xenos internal organs asunder. As they closed on him, he drew his power dagger and....ran away.

Not in fear, not in spite of the odds (for he could despatch the entire group to the judgement of the Emperor if he had wanted to) but because he still had a mission to do. Picking up sniper and dropping mines as he ran, he blew the remaining Sluggas to pieces whilest making headway to his target, Bonesnappa.

Bonesnappa obviusly already alerted to the threat of a member of the Deathwatch, was already moving towards Cyrus. He only had time to deliver the skull-shattering shot before it was upen him. Bonesnappa, severly wounded, but ferocius as ever, was now slow of strike, disoriented, and basically all-around fraked-up, giving Cyrus a fighting chance.

Not having time to take out his shotgun, Cyrus once again drew his power-dagger and engaged Bonesnappa in mele combat. Charging still, the xeno had the first swing of the chopa. The rusty blade cleaved right the space where Cyrus had been as he was now on the back of the Ork extracting the power dagger from the contents of the Warboss's head.

Triumphant as always, Cyrus blasted, hacked and disembowled his way through the rest of the Ork camp, to rest at the place where the Ordo Xenos transport would pick him up. He waited. He waited again. He went out to kill some more Orks and then came back and waited. But the transport never came. He voxed the starship in orbit, the Xenohunter, above the planet. No reply.

Stuck on a planet inhabited soley by Xenos, with no way to get back to the Xenohunter in the near future, he vowed to destroy every living Ork on the face of this unamed, uncharted planet. And he was a man of his word.
