Adding onto my Iron Warriors for this year tourny session

First things first, you have inspired me to make an Iron Warriors Army, the final push

 

Alway good to have more Iron Warriors players :huh:

 

Secondly do you mind I I ask how you make the gold?

 

Dwarf bronze follow by brown ink (no longer on sale by Games Workshop), no idea what I'd do new wash wise though (got a good enough supply of inks from Brown, Cheastnut & Flesh in the event of codex legions!!)

The Bezerker with the normal Marine helmet will be just that a Marine who has turn into a Khorne Bezerker, seen the light of Chaos where all else are blind to the False Emperor ;)

Still trying to think what chapter to make him part off, if anyone has any idea??

 

Just need to get another three Bezerker made before Tue prefferible & then get them all green stuff from loin cloths to fill in the gaps on the legs.

Also if some money arrive in my account I'll be buying a new Rhino for my Bezerker....I think I will be keep this models until it fully painted before show any photos ;)

I vote Black Dragons for the recently turned marine.

 

Excellent work as always. Looking forward to seeing some crazy Iron Warrior type siege vehicles.

 

Question though, how did you do the small spikes on the normal marines head? Its something I've always wanted to try for my own Traitors, but its a little difficult using the GW spikes (little too big to fit on the head). Are they just cut from pins?

Love the poses on the Berserkers!

 

For the one odd Berserker, something Black would look good, like a Black templar fallen. A Blood Angel would be interesting, but then it might be hard to tell the difference with the guys around him.

With the Blood Angels it would be cool but like you said might be a bit hard in term of colour....but then again...Death Company ;) Would be intresting for one who thirst for blood & the power of khorne offer him a way to keep going.

 

As for Templars.....there the son of Dorn!!! & foe of the might & greatess of all Space Marine past & presnt the Iron Warriors legion (also use a lot on my base). It would be the biggest crime to the Iron Warriors to have a soldier of Dorn in the ranks :P Even if they turn chaos -_-

 

Though been having a look & spoted these Scythes of the Emperor (as said there was one in the Skull Harvest short story) for idea

- Salamander though unsure with the green & red (look like x-mas) will look

- Iron Hands....could be that the Marine wanting honour & felt limited being under the Emperor rule

- Ultramarine to wind up a ex-full timer for GW from my local GW, though there a old story of a Ultra turning into a Bezerker, not sure

- Space Wolf, but not sure with the grey mash in with the base

- Fallen Angel?? since they have Black Power armour (but mean add some bit for per-heresy look)

- Raven Guard like that of Dead Sky Black Sun story

 

Get a few idea & post them before painting the model :D

Thanks, sadly be no tanks apart from those Rhinos. I tend to work to a list & more so with my Iron Warriors, if it can not be use for more than a few games then I will not be add it in another reason due to limited supply of old GW Inks that I wish to keep for the release of codex Legion (for far got 6 Flesh wash, 4 Cheastnut, 2 Brown).

There the normal Plastic once taken from ether WFB Chaos Warriors spikes, Spike from the Chaos Marine trophies (skull) or Iron Halo. I cut them up to the size needed & then hold it between my thumb & point finger in a V shape, just so there a grip. Then I careful put a small dot of Super Glue from the GW spure glue (only time the brush is handly). Just be careful to not get any superglue onto your finger or all over the spike.

Thanks, just my goal for the past 7 years of collecting IW is the make my army stand out & this year I want to do well in both gaming & army wise.

 

With the Bitz, there also the art work. The Bloodquest comic is a great source for any Chaos Space Marine player with the exile Blood Angels going on a quest to recover a sword. Or there the old School 2nd Ed codex Chaos which has a wealth of art work & image, or there White Dwarf 202 (UK) which has a really nice art work by John Blanch (photo a few page back).

It why I am a big fan of people who go the extra mile to go all out on there armies with the like of Geroge Dellapin, Chrsitain Bryne, some of the memebers on these fourms.

 

Also with my IW being my main army (as said 7 year solid) I want to go all out.

 

Also the amount of kits for Marines in general as John Blanch pointed out in the WD a few months back.

 

Sort of why after my IW get there update for this year tournament session, I look forward to a challenge my friends have set to make a 1500pts list of Wolves that UK Games Day....then buy everthing I need on the day.

 

Back to the IW.

 

I'm aim to try & get the Bezerker who are currently made (rest are waiting while I wait on some parts from a friend), try to get some green stuff on the gap in there legs as well as green stuff loin cloth, then try to paint four of them on Thur before I go to my wargaming club where I hope to possible use them in a game vs Orks on the Thur night.

 

Then next week I need to really focuse on my display tray & see if it can handly a fourth Rhino & the Bezerkers.

 

Also hope to buy the Bezerker Rhino today.......not sure how much work I will get done until it , but see what time I have on the Wed (want to make a big Mark of Khorne for the hatch!!!!)

 

Painting wise, unsure how I want to paint my bezerker beside red of course ;) Thinking of Red Gore & then paint Blood Red on top, then cheatnut ink since I can spare a pot. Have the left shoulder pad Black (to break think up a bit) & have a Red old School World Eater Icon.

What about going true old school ala Salves to Darkness, paint the Bezerkers with at least 1 piece of armor left in the original blue and white scheme of the World Eaters. Or if you decise to make you bezerkers none WE marines, paint their shoulders and helms red and brass, then paint the rest of the armor in their original chapter/legion colors?

I think painting them in the original white and blue would look awesome, especially if you had them caked in dried gore - as if they have never washed their armour.

 

Pre-heresy World Eaters are one of the coolest looking legions, imo.

Spent this moring green stuff the loin cloth & finish any fill in gap on the legs (hate useing green stuff :( as I can't sculpe (sp?) only use it to build up my base to be honsty)

I've still to add some bits before I get around to undercaoting my Bezerker (few Krak Grenades & also a hand onto one of the Bezerker).

 

Then later today try & build my Rhino though no plasticard work will be done any time soon (Sat if I am luck to be honsty)

Just painted a Bezerker, he going in the right way, just seem he may need some Gryphonne Sepia or the Ogryn Flesh (will paint up a quick test model before hand so I don't weaste anything).

So that'll be tomorrow task. The Bezerker Rhino going to try spend some time Sat & Sun night (got to finish my friend commission for his xeno army)

 

Also seem the blood god being send me sign. I have cut my finder once more, this is the thrid time it happen this since last week!!!! :P

Going to do a finial highlight with Blood Red mix with some orange, then get the model a finial wash of red just to bring some area. Just try the Oger Flesh wash there & it done alright but just need to bring it up a little bit.

 

Also Rhino is built........it just the plasticard work that needed to be done.....which I don't see any time soon (as said got my friend Ork army to paint for Sun with a badly cut finger :) as well as a Space Wolf Lord to finish for this Sat!!!).

 

But I can say is I have a lot idea for my Bezerker Rhino from a plasticard Mark of Khorne & the rest well see ;) Though tomorrow will see my Bezerker hopeful battle it out along side my IW vs Orks & then a Slannesh army after word tomorrow night that my gaming club.

 

I think when it come to painting the Rhino it self.......spray gun the way forward.

I not had much of a chance to get some painting on my own stuff or building, even though it been a mere four days since the last update :P Been busy painting xeno scum for a friend which he pick up today.

After painting the first model I complete forgotten how I got the red effect. However I have found a shorted way of Mechrite Red, blood red highlight, mud wash, Gryphonne Sepia wash.

So need to re-paint my champ & one Bezerker as there a bit to darker red

I am now thinking if I should add the Bezerker unit to my UKGT force for Heat 1. More to do with a new unit, the conversion & idea I have for the Rhino.

 

For the Rhino I would not mind free hand painting a Daemonic face & then have a planet with a nice plasticard mark of Khorne with some blood flow around. If I done this, it would also be added onto my Bezerker shoulder pads as well.

 

While same time I am unsure if it worth keep the Plasma Pistol on the Bezerker unit or go for a Combi Melta on the Rhino & Melta Bomb for Chamo or just for for some nice Havoc launcher?

 

Anyway, should get most of the Bezerker painted on Mon & Tue, try get the Rhino built with extra armour on the Wed.

This Chaos Space Marine has more spike than more last few. Just I have never been a fan of the chaos space marine helmets with the horns as they never fit with my image of chaos. I also like the idea of spike which can be use as another weapon (like the Uriks with the blade that the side of there helmets)

As for what left to do on the list

 

- Paint display tray

- Make extra armour for Bezerker Rhino

- Make a few replacement Bezerker useing the plastic Possessed Marines to show that they where once hero of the Imperial who found more honour with Khorne

- Make one new loot counter to be base on Nurgle

- Paint current models shown & varnish once before that.

- Make one new Terminator who will wait until the release of Harker from the Imperial Guard range due to the release date, this terminator will be the model I paine "before a event" as it never feel right unless your paintings to the very last moment before a event.

 

Tomorrow (it heavy rain right now) I will get the above models undercaoted & see about search for some plastic chaos possessed parts & make some new conversion.

To save time I use extra armour from a old IW predator, also running low on plastic-rod to make the rivits. I think for this Rhino I will be spray gun the red paint onto it.

 

Also update on the Marine turn Bezerker, the orignaly model I was not to happy with, conversion was alright but trying to make it like a Marine who slaughter million in the name of Khorne. So after talking with a few friends, they suggested useing the plastic Possessed in some of the Bezerker.

I've just undercaoted him so painting wise I will leave his Helmet & left shoulder pad to show his once formal chapter. The Khorne pad is taken from a old Bezerker model I had, the one he had got block up with the undercaot :P

So with this in mind with the Possessed Chaos & also some change in there line up (no longer going to have a Plasma Pistol as it rare get use) I've been on a hunt to find some Possessed Marine part to convert up a few other to show the Warp change them

lol, Well If I had to do a Chaos Army I would probably pick Iron Warriors.

 

I might steal some of the bolter marine poses for my fists.

 

Good to see a Imperial Fist player see the light, you can borrow the poses only if you collect Iron Warriors the true master of seige :D Most of the pose idea came from the like of Owen Rees Dark Angels (new army look great), Chrsitain Bryne Black Legion & some other armies on the fourms.
