No tricks, just foundy red paint, blood red highlight, mud wash, griffion wash, job done.

Being spending today getting two new bezerker built. One them to replace a model I was not to happy with & the other one because I will no longer take a Plasma Pistol, also I wanted to try out the plastic possessed as shown in the last post.

I use some part from the Bezerker they where replacing (due to limited bits). I am happy with these & I hope to make that least one of them...if not both another few Fallen Space Marines who saw the light of the chaos gods.

Again I use part from a Bezerker conversion, I have replace the Heavy Bolter head to use that of Huron Blackheart, the head being on the Bezerker arm with Plasma Pistol.

- Bezerker Rhino

- Bezerker to finish them painted wise

- Finish of IW rhino shown a while back

- Display base

- One Iron Warriors Terminators but I need to wait until Harken is release for his head

- One replacment Nurgle Icon for the d3+2 counters

 

I think that me unless there a model I need to convert due to a new conversion.

Usely take me 6 week or 4 if I am luck to get a army fully painted, but with IW because there my main army & I paint each models single. That & also it not a tournament unless your painting that the very last few moment (as why the Terminators I got to still do be done for the UKGT as last min painting).

Saying this, just notice I have four weeks until my first tournament on the 12th Sept ELG Counter Attack. So no hurry :D Think I will try keep a few models back so I have somthing to paint.

 

I like the red on these Berzerkers - darker than you'd normally see Khorne Berzerkers done, but the painting is really good, and think being darker suits your army

Yes just alway preffer darker colours, just always hate painting big bright colours, if I done this to my Bezerker it would make them stand out to much & take the focuse away from the army. But I not & hopeful mean in 1750pts tournament people will take a look that each & ever single Marine in my IW force. Sort of why I never use Imperial Fist as the dead, Black Templars still being son of dorn, it just the focuse should be on the IW.

 

On another note, notice Autocannon are the same pts as Heavy Bolter, look like my Heavy Bolter models everone seen they will all have there weapon converted a little. Just going to use Assault Cannon nozzle to be honsty since I want to keep away from metal (beside the Daemon Prince, Obliterators & shoulder pads/helmets/heads) & also to be honsty the Chaos Autcannon model look to thin, while useing the plastic devastators heavy bolter make them really stand out.

That & also it needed after last year where 90% of all tournament I attended was all Mech armies.

 

So just undercaoted some RW Assault cannon there which hopeful be added onto my already made Heavy Bolter troopers for that extra fire power punch but still take on Hordes.

Little update

 

First up I try hand painting the Bezerker Rhino, but it not came out as I wish. So going to give the spray gun a try once I get a can of air for the spray gun it self. I got three weeks, ho hurries & as said never a tournament unless your painting to the very last second before the event :P

 

Photos wise

 

After notice Autocannon where the same pts as the Heavy Bolter, it was a change. Just for some reason because 99% of stuff weapon wise went up by 5pts in the chaos army list, I though Autocannon was one pts cost.

 

So this being the case I went about useing my current Heavy Bolter models to have them with Autocannon because I like the models I had work on & did not wish to replace them

I went with the Assault Cannon nozzle because it more heavy looking. I could have went for the Chaos Terminators Autocannon...but it look to weak in term of adding it to the HB weapon (Terminators Autocannon is cool don't get me wrong, just there do not fit my image). Also with this being the seige army....weapon are heavy & should be bigger.

I have just order two Space Hulk (well three but one for a friend who is currently in militray tour in Afgan). Aim on making a Deathwing List as well as game of Hulk of course. This will be more painting side, no way (first time) I will ever convert the Hulk Terminators unless I see somthing really really cool?

A while back (April) I collected a Space Wolves army. With a new codex, going to Games Day, to celebrate 13 year in the hobby (28th Sept), I been challenge to make a 1500pts Space Wolves army that I to try & build while down that GD UK.

Well a few thing have change over the pass few weeks, one them being the Khorne Bezerker. Bezerker are a good unit....however they where just not click in my army & rarely did there job or got killed before so. Being that my IW are a tournament breed army, I like my army to do well & not be a easy game what so ever, but same time have a laught with the oppents.

 

So with my first tournament of the session arrive soon...week from Sat!! 12th will see me that Edinbrugh during the ELG wargaming club Counter Attack tournament. So not a lot of time, to add onto this a codex that though it alright it is very limited & like wise I am very very limited on money (Space Hulk, Necromunda gang, save up for my Space Wolves).

 

I am going for a old & classic tried & tested way & that is the way of the Obliterators!!! For my 1750pts will now see a further three extra Obliterators, so that would be 7 in total.

 

Though I said I am not a fan of painting up units for one off games/event. I do have some spare ink I can use on these three Obliterators & like wise this 1750pts list (warp time for the might Warsmith Abhorred Riddick , good old Spike bit days :D )

With ELG counter attack tournament tomorrow I made a few last min change to my list once more. Mainly to add in a Sorcerer (well counted as Lt) with Doom Bolt (like old Kai gun days)

No its not. Iron Warriors are from the era of the Great Crusade, a time when there was no standardisation of any of the uniforms. That only happened when Guilliman wrote the Codex. That means anything goes.

I'm not bother to be honsty. I alway belive the chapter/legion icon should be on the left shoulder pad other wise it is going to look odd IMO having done this in the past with my Mk2 Iron Warriors army (these once you see are add on's to my Mk5).

Been a little while since this topic been update. But now the time is upon me with my next tournament being the Grand Tournament held down in Nottingham in the glory Warhammer World, HQ of all GW'ness. It will be this Sat coming, well Fri when I travl for five hour with friends to attend this great event.

 

Anyway as per usely (well for 7 year now) I have alway painted models the day before a tournament or in the GT case the week before since I'll be travl on the Fri & do not wish to carry to much down with me.

 

So here what I have so far as I been looking through my army making little improvement or replace a model because a person pick the model up with out permission & show little care :unsure:

Update

 

Well first all I was meaning to update this before the Grand Tournament which happen this weekend. But I was to busy painting those last models, it also did not help that I though it be cool to see if I could scratch build a bionic eye on yet another brand new Chaos Marine on the Wed before going down to the UKGT. On top of this I was up to my head packing since the event was down in Nottingham, five hour car trip from Scotland, so had to stay the Fri & Sat night.

Sadly I did not get up for the top 10 best armies. I was told by ref I was close but there a few little tiny detail which made the other armies stand out, but I got great feedback from the ref's. Just thing like, with gold try purple wash, it dose work!!!! (after some brown ink of course)

Little bit of a update.

Thanks DaemonPrinceDargor. Once I get the time this week as said show some the models I was doing led up to the GT, one them has a scratch built bionic eye.

 

On another note beside my Wolves, watch out for a Khorne Bezerker force I had planned (inspired by your friend DaemonPrinceDargor from the GT) & a plastic Grey Knight force I have line up, as well as add on to my Daemons shown last year.

Update

 

Well as promise I would take some photos of the Iron Warriors I made before the UKGT & Counter attack

 

First up the scratch built Bionic eye, this IW was made before the UKGT. Just wanted to try it & make those T face bezerker heads diffrent since I use them a lot though out this army (mainly because there cool & I hate the horn helmet, for me chaos is all about the spikes & daemonic look, for IW add in the bionic elements)

Two of the Terminators, one replace the left handed terminator show a few pagies back who sadily got broken thank to people pick up models with out permission. Other one just because I alway like converting & paint a few models before a tournament.
