Scout Squad Kemnebi

Their current (6th Ed.) incarnation, with bolt guns. Kemnebi himself has a combi-melta and meltabombs. The squad rides around in landspeeder storm Uraeus.

Their former (5th Ed.) incarnation: bolt pistols and combat blades.

Very impressive work Honda.

I particularly like the first group. The camo is very well done and, combined with the general dark scheme really does break up their shape.

On a crowded city fight board I can see them being forgotten about!

This thread inspired me to dig out my old egyptian themed DIY army (the Storm Falcons) from my gaming cabinet and take some pictures of the scouts from it. Most of these models are quite old and have not had as much work put into them as my more recent armies, but none of my newer armies have scouts in them.

The first scout squad in the army. Painted 11 years ago I think.

A more recent addition, painted when the plastic scouts were released (6 or 7 years ago?). The night vision goggles are not from the sniper box since it had not been released at that time.

And some sniper scouts from whenever that box was released. I really wanted the camo cloaks to look different from the noraml cloaks that my first unit had. And I had this idea of them morphing into the same texture as the ground. The closer they came to the ground, the more they changed. So on the standing scouts the bottom part of the cloaks have begun to adopt some kind of sand texture but on the kneeling scout you can see even more sand and some rock texture as well.

Scout bikers. Made from regular scouts since the plastic scout bikers had not been released. At the time I made these, all models in the unit could have melta bombs, which can be seen on the models.

I just really hate the heads on the plastic Scouts :) I think at some point I'll rip them off and repaint the unit, but for now they'll do.
