DeadGearHead
Had this kit for a while now, finally decided to do it, but was rushed painting through some of it. The rhino is looking good so far, got some custom Sword Brethren on the go as well as the kit SB, some Neophytes, Tactical Squad, Assault Squad, Grimaldus & Retinue, Helbrecht and am using the Black Reach kit army. Unfortunately my local GW doesn't have an emperor's champion (I didn't order it with the rest of Black Templars thinking the store would have one) http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3508/3888084107_97912389f1_b.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/177717-my-first-completed-black-templar/ Share on other sites
Godfrey
If you have enough bits laying around you can just make a Champion. Though, the GW one does look very nice. DeadGearHead
I have two Emperor's Champion, one was done with some Battle for Macragge pieces. And the other one is being done in Black Templar colours, but is meant as diorama piece; which has been sitting on my workbench for for 3 years.... :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/177717-my-first-completed-black-templar/#findComment-2101071 Share on other sites
Burningblood
Man, your rushed paint job looks better than my 20 hour paint jobs. Kudos. Marshal Varas Mortez
As has been said, feel free to come 'rush' paint my models for me :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/177717-my-first-completed-black-templar/#findComment-2101678 Share on other sites
Brother Richard
Nice look.. the edging is a little thick.. but I can't paint anyway. I like the red trim and crisp white pads. I look forward to viewing the rest. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/177717-my-first-completed-black-templar/#findComment-2104683 Share on other sites
DeadGearHead
Thanks for the kind words. You are definetly correct on the edging being way to thick, I'm still trying to figure out the best way for me to paint these models, as I am not use to this scale. I was originally going to do a gundam method which is sanding the edges to expose the color of the plastic, but decided against it. Brother Richard
I never thought of sanding down as a way to edge.. very interesting concept. I must give it a try. Any progress this week? Primarch16
The biker is very pretty, nice clean painting. Seems a little plain at the moment though, considered writing a little scripture on his armour/bike? Or maybe a few purity/crusader seals? Its not to everyones fancy though, he looks good. DeadGearHead
I was thinking of doing some scripture but it was meant mainly to help narrow down how I would paint the marines. You can't tell with this photo but he has two blades on the sides of the bike. I was thinking to myself...If I was to be riding a bike for deep penetration into enemy lines, I would want to double swing some massive blades getting of the bike... So I put some on it.
