TECHYMECH
Idea for an AdMech army using the 5th ed Space Marine Codex Master of the forge with a thunder hammer - 130 4 servitors with 2 multi-meltas - 130 Master of the forge with a bike, conversion beamer and thunder hammer - 185 Techmarine with a servo-harness - 75 4 servitors with 2 multi-meltas - 130 2 Dreadnoughts with multi-melta, heavy flamer, and extra armor - 130 x 2 2 10-man scout squads with 8 sniper rifles, a heavy bolter, and a sergeant with a power sword and bolt pistol, all with camo cloaks - 205 x 2 2 Land speeders with a multi-melta and heavy flamer - 70 x 2 Thunderfire cannon - 100 2 ironclad dreadnoughts with meltaguns, heavy flamers with ironclad assault launchers in drop pods with deathwind missiles - 220 x 2 total - 2000 Does this seem very mechanich-y? WingsOfTheFalcon
I don't know if it's more Iron Hands than Mechanicus, but I respect the fact you've used scouts for troops instead of marines. I'm just jealous because the Guard 'dex doesn't have any dirty great dreadnoughts to play with! Lets see the minis! :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181943-space-marine-admech-army/#findComment-2154629 Share on other sites
DeathTyrant
Sounds good to me. I agree that having scouts makes it seem more fluffy than full on SM. Severus6
However, if you did take a squad or two of Marines you could simply say that they are a varient of Praetorian. Dunedon
Assuming you are looking for a codex legal army however ... can you HAVE two "Master of the Forge" in the same army? I always assumed they were unique. morcus
The 5th Ed seems to have dropped alot of the 0-1 limits of the older eds aswell as alot of compulsory choices. Nehekhare
I would recommend adding a counts-as-vulcan to the list, sporting so many melters, flamers and hammers but lacking some HtH-punch. Well, as a "forge-farther", he isn't too unfluffy by himself, actually. I know it's a fluff army but beware of heavy bolters. bolstered defenses won't cover all those rather fragile squads, maybe add some razorbacks. RexTalon
I really like it but there are some minor changes I would make. I would drop a dred and a land speeder. Use those points for a razorback or two. I would call the dred and land speeder robots and make them out of collections of bits. In fact, if you don't mind I'm going to use this list for my Ad Mech army. OIC
howdy i have an issue or two with the army list.. i run a Iron hands army. and servitors..no matter how fluffy they are, just dont act like ther personal skitarii guard an HQ unit should have. it would be better to run a comand squad and build and convert them to look like servitors. just what i have found and seen from reading. Okidus
I use Sternguard as my praetorians. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181943-space-marine-admech-army/#findComment-2239840 Share on other sites
nurglephill
I like it, but can you have a conversion beamer and a thunder hammer? I thought the codex says you have to give up the bolter to take either. So if you give it up to take the beamer...how can you to take the thunder hammer? I am VERY happy to be wrong on this, did i missunderstand the codex? can you take both?? pueriexdeus
This sound like a place I'll ask a question. I have one Reaver Titan, and normally I attach a SM/DA Tac Sqd with it to fight off the random opponent assault troops. Now I'm working on two Warhounds to Walk with my Reaver. So Skittiri seems like a more fluffy Troop choice. Im thinking they might be better modeled as Cadian Troops as opposed to SM's. But, theirs always a But. Whats the stats? Seems as thought "S", "T", and "A" will be higher than IG. Knowing that the Pretorians are about on par with SM's Whats the balance?
