Well - I have been spending the majority of my available hobby time this year, working on a W40k 2nd terrain set :-D Here is what I have finished to date!

Space Shelters

Jungle trees (yeah, 3rd ed, I know...but close enough!)

Love the Oldhammer scenery. Been considering making some myself but I'm trying to be disciplined about finishing old projects first.

So - I finished my DIY Space Ork favala mud hut - intended for use in my upcoming games of W40k 2nd ed :-D

 

 

 

 

 

It was great fun to build and paint - and I am inclined to do another, one story, some time later this year.

It looks great - the degraded "stucco" and the rough chequering definitely lend it an orky character

Ooh, very nice - I love the "3Dification" of the original card terrain  

 

I like how you've done the internal paving, with weeds growing between the slabs, etc

I love your old school style terrain. It makes me go back in time. I remember the White Dwarf that had the ork hut manual.

Hi there ! 
Here is my first contribution to this topic... 

I'm actually working on a table I could use for Kill team, Necromunda, and all the specialist games I love. My wish is to create a place where we could find both buildings and jungle. I suppose I've been influenced by 90´s movies, but I'm not really sure which ones.

 

So, I am trying to apply the same kind of red tones for every buildings, and I'm working now on thinking about how the jungle would grow on it. That's the reason why I choosed those red tones for the buildings, if I consider green thingamagig growing on them.

Note that the figs are still wip, too.

 

I'll send more pics, and I hope plenty of advices from you all.

Objectives counted as terrain during the last Call to Arms so I did this one.

I've been painting rocks. Doesn't sound too thrilling but I actually really enjoyed just drybrushing stuff for a change.

They are very nice, rocky rocks.  Getting rocks to look both interesting and natural can be hard to do, but I think you've pulled it off.

A compillation of the terrain from last KT season:

Unfortunatly I cannot claim paternity for this selection of colors. I largely inspired myself from a schem I saw in the web when the Vertigus Set was released.

The blue-grey is however very very consistant with the plascrete colour recipe from 2nd Ed paper board bunkers and custom scenery seen in WDs at the time.

It doesn't have to be original to look good. It looks great on Dire Avengers so it makes sense a bit of weathering will make it look good on terrain. :) I think I've got some terrain from the Death Korps/Kommando box set release that needs to be painted. Always got some stuff to paint.
