Hey everyone,

I recently sold my soul to the chaos gods and bought myself a forgeworld reaver titan. This is my largest model I have yet to work on, next to my Brass Scorpion.

I just received this massive model from Forgeworld Thursday Nov. 19th. I ordered it on Nov. 13th... Essentially took 4 days to come from the UK to Canada... that was fast.

Anyway, here are pics of it in all its wonders bags of bits!

What I ordered:

1x Chaos Reaver Titan Body

1x Melta Cannon arm

1x Laser Blaster arm

1x Power fist arm

1x Apocalypse Missile Launcher Carapace Weapon

1x Warhound Plasma Cannon arm (Which I will convert to a carapace weapon)

1x Warhound Vulcan Mega Bolter arm (Which I will convert to a carapace weapon)

I do plan on making all the weapons inter-changeable. It will take a lot of work, but I think it will be worth it.

I love that my Titan is number 469. I'm assuming that this is the number of total Reaver Titans casted to date, including both Loyalist and Chaos models.

or....perhaps instead of lobbing Land Raiders, it will make crazy makeshift skates out of them. You can then model it with 2 land raiders on its feet. I would count it as a fast titan. and should be able to move at lest 24" in a turn....

Cant wait to see it up and being built, especially since I am a khorne player myself.

In view of it going to be a Chaos Titan, does anyone else find that certificate in the first picture as funny as I do? :P

Heh, ya I thought that was pretty funny at first. Damn Lazy guys at forgeworld, can't make a chaos certificate...

Heh, that would work. I also have had the idea that if my other buddy gets one too, we need to have them move up into the middle of the board during a game, equipped with the power fist, just so they can high five. :P

I'm anxious to get this thing done, although, if its anything like the Brass Scorpion, I may be at this for at least 6 months lol... I'm gonna start cleaning and washing the parts in the next few days.

I'll be posting more updates to follow. :)

:P im sat here drooling.

i really want one, sadly my spendable savings dont quite amount to that much yet :(

Ugghh... I cringe every time I see the bill... :(

At the same time I think, I just bought, the most expensive, largest model I can for my Chaos army, I can't get anything more expensive.... unless I buy another one later... :| :(

When you do get it done be careful, a guy at my local club now cant field his warhound titan because he lost one of it's legs on the bus!!! :P

Such a shame FW doesn't to spare parts, then i could get one over a (very long) period of time.

Was he just totting it around? If he doesnt have a car I would have had a friend picking me up that day or at least some way to properly carry it.

So I've begun the fun task of cleaning and preparing...

A lot of stuff to do.

Sadly as I was going through the parts checklist I did find a piece missing. I've emailed forgeworld, so we will see what they'll do.

I did get a reply, while typing this actually, they will be sending me the missing part. Its nothing major, just a cable/tentacle arm thing thats supposed to be coming out of one of the crew.

Anyway some pics:

Wow, thats alot of parts. Will look amazing when finished. Are you painting it in Khorne colours? Are there pics of your brass Scorpion about?

The reaver and brass scorpion are my 2 fav models, so good luck with getting this bad boy done.

Edit: Just found your brass scorion. Looks awsome, makes me want to see the reaver painted and assembled even more.

Yah, its insane, I'm probably 33% done cutting/trimming the parts. Then I need to wash all of it, and green stuff any air bubbles etc.

Thanks about the Brass Scorpion, I don't think I'm gonna with the exact same paint scheme, with all the faces, might do something different here. The faces makes more sense for the scorpion since they are supposed to be possessed by deamons.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey everyone, got an update.

So I finally finished cutting/trimming all the flash on the resin pieces. So, next step for me was to clean/wash all the parts.

Bath time for the reaver bits!

These were a pain to clean, mainly because they were so damn small...

http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s184/acolitedevart/IMG_4276.jpg

First, I poured some Mr Clean Floor cleaner into the water, dunno how much exactly;about as much as I felt necessary. :)

After that, I let it sit for about 1/2 an hour. Then took a tooth brush and scrubbed the pieces thoroughly. Then rinsed them in warm water, before scrubbing them again with soap, and rinsing them one last time.

http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s184/acolitedevart/IMG_4275.jpg

Finally, I layed out all the pieces to let them dry.

http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s184/acolitedevart/IMG_4283.jpg

So, after a night of drying, I had to start patching up all the air bubbles on the pieces, I did this two ways, using green stuff for the bigger holes and super glue for the smaller ones.

This piece was probably the worst as you can see:

After the green stuff finally sets, I'll sand down all of it to make it nice and smooth, once that is done, I can finally start to glue/prime it. :P
