=I= Coming in 2010?

Long time since I posted in here. Oh well, at least I bring some interesting news. According to Stickmonkey from Warseer, he is a GW employee. He wished to share some of the 40k WIP models for 2010. These were the first three:

* New GK Terminators 3ups (5 poses, 1 HQ/leader)

* New Daemonhunter/Witchhunter concept art

* New DH/WH vehicles/support

Not only that, he would later post:

"... Much of the discussion yesterday revolved around DH/WH plans. And i mentioned in the other thread it could see light of day around Jan next year if it stays on track. Can't see it happening any earlier, but could happen mid-2011."

and

"As far as inquisition, I've only seen GK. And I think these are great looking models, they retain the individualism. The details are all there. Certain "options" were shown. Discussions around expanded chapter organization were had. I think GK players will be happy once these are released."

Things are starting to trickle in now. Really, it seems like that they really might be doing combined =I= even though I had seen different from higher up but that was over a year ago and might have changed. Another thing that I forgot to mention, the poster said that GW is focusing to make all basic troops plastic (nothing new there) so don't freak out since PAGKs aren't up on the list (which I don't think was all inclusive, just what he saw).

Thanks for posting that up, while I am a warseer member, I tend to focus my time here on the B&C so i miss out on threads like these.

regardless of accuracy, I still like seeing what could *potentially* happen with my beloved =][=.

Looking forwards to future leaks... especially pics! :)

Empty Bolter Clip

After reading through that thread, I have to call shenanigans. I found it unlikely that a GW employee would post information on unannounced products. Then, towards the end, he posts more stuff specifically about Inquisition armies. I smell fuel on a fire built under a troll's bridge. :tu:
In all likelihood he probably doesn't work in anything model related, maybe in accounting. It wouldn't be the first time that somebody has been given the blessing to pass a few crumbs out to the masses. Plus it adds another source to some of the other rumors floating around, such as Dark Eldar being complete or there abouts. Obviously all such rumors have to be taken with the above prescribed dose of salt.
6th edition will be out before we get new dexes :devil:. The last good rumor was the one about Gk and SoB getting their own dexes mid to late 2011 possibly early 2012 (I can't recall where I read it) and I agree with INQ. NicolePyykkonen, I would like to finish my 10,000 pts of Crimson Fist before having to reconfigure my Sisters again.

For expediency sake, here's what Stickmonkey posted today:

"I got to see the DH/WH character designs yesterday, there are about a dozen named inquisition, incl existing.

one looks like a gk chaplain.

a sister w what looks like twin arm mounted SBs.

a named preacher.

new concept for throne of judgement less like a converted dread.

sister w twin cat o nine tails.

confessor w a big staff w what looks like integrated flamer

named seraphin w new jump pack, more marine like (large jets) but retains some archaic details, also has sword and combi weapon

another gk named justicar, w 2 ended force weapon.

a gk vehicle based character."

Also, he hints that GK will be getting new vehicles that are best described by "one word, sammael." Yes....Jetbiker Grey Knights.

Well, at least the IC selection looks fairly consistent with what we've seen in newer codexes and further confirms my suspicions that it will be a combined dex. Also, I am looking forward to seeing the confessors and preachers make a comback (I never got a chance to play with them). As far as the jetbikers go, well....would be kinda cool to get some fancy toys from Mars that not even the SMs get.

I would look more toward 2011 & I belive Stickmonkey & Harry have point toward that time of year. 2010 is fully book with a lot of cool stuff as it is ;) any more then we would be broke money wise before this year is over.

* New GK Terminators 3ups (5 poses, 1 HQ/leader)

* New Daemonhunter/Witchhunter concept art

* New DH/WH vehicles/support

* New Ork dreads

* New Marine models for a specific chapter

* New SM concept art

* New DE models (these are sweet, and I'm not a DE lover)

* New DE concept art

* New Guard tanks/artillery

* New Necron MC sized model

* New Necron concept art

* New Ork vehicles

* New 40k concept art and 3ups tied to a future Codex release

* A lot of the Missions book tie in releases

Obviously a lot of this just strengthens rumors that are already out there. And some of it looks very rough, as in 3ups with lots of notes for changes.

I'm struggling to hold back and just dump specifics. There is one model in particular I want to talk about, but am unable, but you all will find that out soon anyhow, it's part of the Missions release, so news will spill out in due course.

Also looks like there will be another Mystery Box style campaign later this year. But I honestly don't know what it will be...I asked about Warhammer Quest, and was told specifically that license is with someone else now. (hopefully FFG) So yall's guess is as good as mine.

But more to give a flavor of what is in the pike.

I'll be able to comment more as the process goes on and we hear some of the play test results for rules, box art, etc. As with SW and Nids, I am really out of the loop by the time rules are finalized, but a lot of what I get to see does make it thru.

As far as DE, I am reasonably certain a DE release is on the horizon based on what I know. But I also know there are unresolved issues from a business standpoint, so I'd say 50% max chance to see DE in 2010, greater chance in 2011. From an art/model standpoint, the DE are an "evolution" from past incarnations. Some are downright "evil" looking.

As far as inquisition, I've only seen GK. And I think these are great looking models, they retain the individualism. The details are all there. Certain "options" were shown. Discussions around expanded chapter organization were had. I think GK players will be happy once these are released.

As far as the model I was specifically forbade from revealing. Anything more I could say would be too much. But it's killing me not to.

One thing I saw again was the Webway terrain. It definitely looks like a test plastic pull, but I couldnt get hands on it to really review. The scratchbuilt Nid terrain was also on display.

@ Marid:

Stickmonkey has been a reliable rumour source for quite some time now, with many proving true

His claims sound very reasonable and hopefully are true. I have ben expecting a DH/WH release in 2010 for the last two years now but got tired with all the nay sayers so stopped discussing it, now it sounds more viable than ever.

Personal note: GK jetbikes sound like the perfect solution for the lack of fast assault.

Mel

I'll admit, I dread the idea of Grey Knights riding around on bikes, but jetbikes instead seem to work. Gives GKs a good Fast Attack choice and something that only one other army has.

That said, I'd happily take some Land Speeders as well, though I don't see GW recutting that sprue so soon after the Marine codex just to add some =I= bits.

I would pay big money for the GW boys to get off their duffs and write the Grey Knights codex already. Honestly, I would buy a lot of models if nothing else to show GW that yes, people like this army so do something with it.

It's gotten to the point that I've toyed with the idea of running a counts-as Grimar and all my Grey Knights as Wolf Guard just so I can use the models with a set of rules that work and modern point costs. Plus decent options for anti-tank work.

Only one other army has what? Jetbikes? Hah. Eldar, Dark Eldar, Orks, Master of the Raven Wing, and if you allow forgeworld, I seem to recall Tau.
Any idea if theres going to be a box set of plastic battle sisters? The second that comes out, im getting my sisters of battle army!
It's anybody's guess at the moment but if this stuff is in the pipeline then there's a fair chance that plastic sisters will be following somewhere...just don't go holding your breath for them.

Well i already have 10,000 points of SoB, but a named character could that mean Ephrael Stern hopefully???

As for preachers i relish the idea again, and the Throne of Judgement realy did look too dready to me.

Maybe a few more named characters like Saint Praxedes, Helena the Virtuous, Uriah Jacobus, Redemptor Kyrinov would be cool too.

But please bring Ephrael Stern i already own her miniature...

Now just have to wait another year for any release fo SoB but i guess it will be worth it.

Guess i can add a new Oder Militant (eg: Martyrd Lady) to my already Order of the Sacred Light.
