Slothysaur
I like the dirtyness on those wings Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189585-jorres-blood-angels-the-lord-of-death/page/14/#findComment-4266367 Share on other sites
Slothysaur
Actually, if I may ask, how did you go about making the wing look like that? Mine always come out with a brown tint that I'm not too fond of. Jorre
Actually, if I may ask, how did you go about making the wing look like that? Mine always come out with a brown tint that I'm not too fond of. Â Its very simple! I base coat the whole wing with Eshrin Grey, then 2 generous servings of Nuln oil, as thick as you can without it pooling! then just carefully mark out the white bits with white scar white! If you want dirtyness add a little water to the white so it doesn't go on to thick Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189585-jorres-blood-angels-the-lord-of-death/page/14/#findComment-4266379 Share on other sites
Jorre
Since I don't have many new models to prepare for the next event, I thought I'd focus on hobby score and make a few extras! LutherMax
Those are awesome! What a great idea to use banners! Nicodemus Doloroso
I love the use of banner ... great idea for objective markers. Consider it stolen, if I can scrounge the necessary banners (all my sergeants and the like on foot wear banners so I actually have used most of the banners I have). Bryan Blaire
Jorre, the weathering on the Sicaran looks very good, and I like the inclusion of the wings on the side, very nice little detail. Your objective markers are also great, very nice display of the idea, and methinks you are going to get a lot of cribbing off that idea. Good show, sir, good show! Rune_Priest_Rhapsody
Great looking models, Jorre!! Â The Sic is looking great!! I like the subtle weathering/damage on it, and the wing, as already mentioned, is like icing on the cake. Jorre
Thanks for all the positive feedback guys! Really appreciate it! Â I'm a little surprised on the objective markers as they where totally a afterthought! I better get them finished soon so you can all see the final pictures! just..... how much time do I want to put into painting the dead Terminator from space hulk! Better find some motivation! Jorre
So the numbered objectives are finished.... I had planned on just saying the dead terminator is objective 1 as I thought the flags looked silly on him! However my wife suggexted I have the flag on the ground in front of him! I might be able to make that work and it would be easily added after painting. Any thoughts?? Any thoughts??I agree with your wife and it shouldn't look silly. My only thought is that the rims still need to be painted. Nice work, very inspiring, actually. Now I have to come up with custom objectives for each of my armies... :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189585-jorres-blood-angels-the-lord-of-death/page/14/#findComment-4268935 Share on other sites
LutherMax
They look great! Â I think the flag will work in front. I think you should have it leaning against his leg as if he was holding it when he died and it fell against him when his hand slumped down. Jorre
Almost ready to tick this little project off! Just need to do the banner and stick it on! Im thinking ill position it like this so as much of the model is still visible as possible! For a dead marine it really is a nice model! I've had a lot of fun painting it! Hell this guy looks better than most of my actual usable models! Jorre
I'm so jealous of how quick you crack your models out  Great job! Yeah I have definetly been going through a good patch as far as work volumes go! If you look back through my wip thread though you will see I barely did anything for almost 2 years! I really got cracking about 6 months ago though and Emperor knows how I have managed to maintain it!  I have spoken about it before! The key is to have a goal and a deadline! Also little easily attainable goals, you don't want to set some massive 1000 point + goal! That is just to daunting to tackle!  For me getting back into tournaments has been a big motivation as it gives me a deadline. Also instead of completely redesigning my army I try to tackle 1-2 units at a time as its far easier to manage. (My spartan skyhammer project was a massive undertaking and I wouldn't recommend such a big project for everyone, I'm not sure I would do that again!)  The RTS was a real help in motivation as well! Again it gives a deadline!  Computer games can be a big distraction for me though, probably my biggest weakness as far as pointless time sinks go! How ever I havn't had the gamer bug hit me for a while due to recently becoming a dad and not being able to sit in front of a computer for hours at a time!
